Hi All,

I've just recently started my search and this forum has been very helpful for a first-timer. I'm trying to decide between these 4 diamonds as they're in the same price range. Can someone tell me the pros/cons? I was leaning towards the 2.51 IF but the table seems large and is lower in carat size but has high clarity. Which one would you pick if you had a choice and what are the pros/cons?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Shape Carat Cut Color Clarity Depth Table Measurements Fluroescence Girdle

Round2 2.51 Ideal H IF 61.5 59 8.72 x 8.75 x 5.37mm Strong Medium
Round3 3.01 Ideal I VS2 62.4 58 9.23 x 9.27 x 5.77mm Very Strong Blue Thin

^I agree with JulieN, and at this ct weight, I'm sure if you're looking for an ideal cut 3.0 ct stone, it's gonna be $$$$$$.$$$$$$$. If I'm not mistaken most cutters will cut to retain weight at these sizes, although there ARE large ideal stones, but those come with a hefty tag! So if it's size you're looking for... really try to find a stone with nice numbers (angles and proportions)

I can't even find a well cut stone on even WF's site with decent numbers...

Edit: found a few

I don't know about most, but for $57k I could buy.. 1) down a house 2) a used 993 or 964 Porsche 3) 2 E30 M3s 4) my dream reef tank/room.

The 3.0 carat didn't look good dimension wise but I wanted to see what others thought. I think a 2.5 would be ideal which I wanted to get an idea on whether the others were any good. I used the holloway cut advisor and except for the IF clarity (2.5), they all came under 2.0. Looking for a range between 25k-35k. The 3.0 came in at 5.4

I didn't look at the others but if they come under 2.0, and IF you like those stones, find a favorite vendor (i.e. ID jewelery) to call that stone in and he should be able to get the proper ideal-scope images for you (under 2.0 is worth the investigation).
