Just talked to the fiance, and she says size trumps color, so I changed my search criteria for a finely cut I, SI 1, and have narrowed it down to 2 stones -- one from WF and the other from GOG.

I''m just a little concerned about the inclusion in the center of the GOG diamond. Anyone else see anything I should consider in trying to decide between these two stones?

Thanks in advance.

2 beautiful diamonds, it is best to ask the vendor regarding eyecleanliness as they are in the best position to advise you - likely with either they would be fine anyway, but do ask and make sure the vendors are aware of your idea of '' eyecleanliness.''

Also it depends whether you prefer the branded ACA diamond, or other superb cut diamond from GOG, but I think either would be a fantastic choice, it depends on what matters most to you and your preferences.

Both are stellar stones, so no worries.

The WF stone would only be $10,069 with the PS discount, though, so I''d likely pick that and save the $800 (or put it into a pendant stone!! LOL)

Both are beautiful. I''d call both and ask if they are eye clean, from how far away, and if they are clean from the side as well. Depending on what they say, I''d probably just get the cheaper stone if both are eye clean.

Both are beautiful! I guess I''d choose based on which vendor had the setting I liked most! The WF stone will be $400 less, but I''d still choose based on the preferred setting to make life easier!

Thanks for all of the replies. I actually have my own setting which is currently being resized. Both vendors (GOG and WF) claim their stones are eye clean, so the choice is still just as difficult. I still need to ask if they are eye-clean from the side though. I was wondering if it were possible to make an apples to apples light performance comparison between the two stones if WF uses ASET and GOG uses the Megascope? If there is no way to do this comparison, would you recommend I ship both stones out to a local appraiser, or would this simply be like splitting hairs since the stones are very similar? Also, should I have the person who made my setting mount the stone or should I have WF or GOG do it upon purchase? Lastly, for anyone that has a warmer color stone (H-J) with no fluoro, should I be concerned about either of these not facing up as white?

I found a 3rd stone at a local jeweler:

Price: 11.8K
Cut Grade: AGS 0
Color: I (AGS 2.5)
Clarity: VS2 (AGS 4) - (So I won''t have to worry as much about eye-clean.)
Wt: 1.540
Fluorescence: Medium Blue (Which I liked. Faced up nicely against an F)
Depth: 60.2
Table: 57
Crown 34.5
Pavillion: 40.4
Culet: Pointed. Used 0.3% in the HCA

HCA: 0.6

Questions:
1. Is $11.8K a reasonable price for this stone? I can''t find another I, VS2 on PS to compare it to.
2. Does anyone know of an appraiser in Minneapolis or near the twin cities that uses Ideal-Scope or ASET? The one appraiser listed in MN on this site apparently does not.
3. What is a reasonable strategy for comparing light performance between these 3 stones?

Thanks!

I don''t know much about round stones, but, the GOG stone IS a teeny, tiny, little, bit bigger!
