Hi everyone,
Recently joined the forum but spent a lot of time reading the various postings (very helpful BTW) and viewing the bling pics. I really like the classic tiffany setting and read that the Vatche U113 would be a good match. Think my hopefully soon to be fiancée will like it.
I am looking for a 2.0+ carat round brilliant, GIA/AGS, excellent cut, polish and symmetry. I initially thought about going with G-H color with VS1-VS2 clarity. However, after seeing the loose diamonds in-person, believe the I color to be an excellent value without any noticeable difference.
I found an AGS certified diamond on JA. It's a 2.02 carat, I, VS1 with AGS rating 0 for cut, polish and symmetry priced at $23,950. It scored a 1.3 on the HCA test. Is this diamond fairly priced or am I paying a significant premium for the AGS certification? The RAPAPORT report lists $12,400 per carat for a diamond of this color/clarity i.e. ~$25,000 for this stone. Should I be looking for a discount (10%?) to RAPAPORT or is paying the price listed considered a good deal?
Additionally, what do you think about the dimensions of the stone? Should I be worried about the large table size and culet (very small). Below is a link to the diamond on the JA site

Girdle: Thin-Medium, Culet:VS, Fluorescence: Negligible

L/W/D (mm): 8.13*8.17*4.91
Thanks in advance for any help and feedback you can provide! Much appreciated.
