Decided on custom setting, what next?

Okay I came up with design elements I want, spoke with all the jewelers and decided on one.

Now what questions do I need to ask to make sure I''ll be okay from now on? Here''s some that I came up with. Please let me know what else you think I''ll need to ask.

1) What type of % and mix of platinum do you use?
2) Will you be able to fix my ring if something happens to it?
3) I getting a carved/engraved antique looking ring. Can I pick the engraving pattern?

Also what do I ask to basically say "How do you guarantee your work?"

Once I get my ring then what? Go to an appraiser and get it appraised & insured? Anything else?

Do you WARRANT your work, and if so what for, and for how long. Get that in writing, btw.
