But the quality of stones and fit and finish was exemplary the ring is a prong set with 2.85 c diamonds I liked the way the way the debeer stones were set in the ring. Most of us on the forum in the US have so many other options of where to buy ideal cut diamonds without paying the price premium of a Debeers, Tiffany, Harry Winston, Cartier, etc. So you won''t see too many purchases on here from those stores, although they certainly carry nice things. There are several girls with Tiffany rings, and some have bought them second hand at Signed Pieces, which gives an exceptionally good value.

I saw your ring and earrings last night and they are beautiful! She is a lucky lady!

Hi Caitanya!

I''ve been to the DeBeers stores in London, NYC, and Beverly Hills. I found the sales people to be very helpful and down-to-earth at all 3 locations. Their jewelry is gorgeous. Their craftmanship isn''t quite the same as Cartier or Harry Winston, but it is still excellent.

I found their diamond prices to be more than I expected. When they started opening their retail stores, I thought, "Wow, bonanza! The world''s largest supplier of rough will definitely be able to offer beautiful stones at more competitive prices than the high-end jewelers." But it seems they have tried to position themselves alongside the high-end jewelers, rather than just beneath.

I do think that DeBeers has some very unique setting designs. Personally I don''t think they have done a very good job at marketing their designs - the DB Signature setting is gorgeous as is the Forever Two. You never see the side profile of these rings. The Allegria eternity band is really unique, but again, photos from revealing angles are rare.

I remember seeing the bands like the one you bought - breathtaking! Your wife is one lucky lady!

Now all we have to do is watch them pass the "Test of Time".
