Haven, I've never been to Lou Malnati's but I'm taking my out of town family there tonight. If I recall correctly, you're a big fan. What's the best stuff on the menu?

Anyone else with opinions, speak up, too! Thanks!

(This is a situation when PMs would be awesome, but since we don't have them everyone on the board can ponder my dinner choices  )

Ooh, YUM!

If you're going to one of the locations in the city, you cannot go wrong.

That being said, I love their deep dish pizza best. We usually get the butter crust with cheese and pepperonis. I don't like their sausage because it is literally a LAYER of sausage, not little bits, and it's just too much for me.

I LOVE their Malnati salad, it's really delish.

I think I'm super boring, here--deep dish pepperoni pizza and salad. But seriously, it's so good that we rarely get anything else! Their thin crust is good, too, but I always figure why get thin crust if I can get deep dish, ya know?

HAVE FUN! The only bad experience I've ever had with Lou's is at their Highland Park carryout location. The crust has been soggy three times, so we no longer order from their. I hope you're going to one of the actual restaurants! The BG location is always amazing, but a bit out of the way since it's out in the burbs.

Ooh, enjoy Sillyberry! I'm quite jealous, I must admit.

Thank you thank you!

We're going to the original up in Lincolnwood. I've lived in Chicago for almost three years and have never had good hot deep-dish, so I'm excited. And you're welcome to join us...

LOVE the lasagna! The deep dish pizza is to die for and the appetizer combo while you wait is heaven! We have a full service here in Naperville, in the old firehouse. Come on down sometime for lunch and shopping!!!

Deep dish! It's amazing.

So, how was it?

So we ordered a Lou and a Sausage, both with buttercrust. Everyone thought it was delicious. I thought it was good, for deep dish. I think I'm just a thin-crust girl at heart.

But we had a great time and the kids loved it and thought the lazy susan on the table was the coolest thing ever. I love finding out what will totally enthrall children. :D
