DBTY bezel question

Hi everyone.

My diamond collection needs to expand and I'm thinking about adding a DBTY piece.

My question, do the open culets irritate you and what are some possible solutions?

I currently have bezel drop earrings (see pic) and sometimes it swings and hits my face, the culet part hurts when in contact with my skin.

Because I'm thinking about getting a DBTY necklace, do you think the open culet will irritate my skin? If so, what are some alternatives because I really want a DBTY necklace.

I have a fake DBTY with bigger stones and th culets do hurt me. But I have another one with smaller stones (.15) and I can't feel them much at all.

Athenaworth - my earrings are .25ct on top and .5ct on the bottom. Maybe because there are two culets they hurt more???

I remember seeing a post here with some metal in the back. It could have been a pendant that was trying to avoid the "mickey mouse" ears that attached to the bezel?

I really like the DBTY...maybe this gives me an excuse to to go to the T&CO and actually try one one on.

I'm thinking of a 36in necklace that I can wrap multiple times either as a necklace or even as a bracelet.

I have those same drops done as single stones. I had them shorten the chain so it wouldn't bug me as much.

I have a 34" WF version w/ 15pt melee along w/ a matching bracelet and the culet do not bother me. Here is my thread w/ pics:

I'm a mom of 2 boys too...one of which is 10 months old and has grubby little hands that like to grab and pull at everything.

I noticed you got a thicker necklace. Do you feel that it's more durable? I'm afraid of a it snapping just due to my little baby's need to grab at everything.

I was thinking of doing a 36in necklace but it looks like I can do it a little shorter. Your .15ct stones look great. I was thinking of going a little bigger. How did you determine the spacing?

Hi to another mom of 2 boys!

I definitely wanted a sturdier chain so I ordered the custom 1.5mm thickness. No problems thus far w/ durability since I've had the necklace for over 1/2 a year now. I can double it but there is not enough room on my neck to triple it. I looked through all of the DBTY threads and determined that I liked the 2" spacing for myself. Also, I personally like the bezel size of 15 pts but there is another poster who went larger w/ 20 pts on a shorter necklace:

FYI, DS is coming out w/ a 36" version of my necklace w/ 14pts so you should take a look at hers soon for reference on length! Hope this helps!
