I get an unexpected day off this week...Friday no less...and want to know wyhat others would do if they had an unanticipated day free!
I do have to stick by the house bc I scheduled my heat pump/ac to be replaced since I''ve got the day off.

I''d pull weeds out of the gardens. It is productive and I enjoy it.

Other than that (and assuming I had my school stuff done and the house clean (enough)) I would:

Have a cup of coffee or tea (or both

)
Read a good book
Bake something yummy (caramel pecan cinnamon rolls...)
Go to the arboretum (weather permitting)
Make a big batch of something (chicken soup?) to freeze for dinners on other nights.
Enjoy a nice, slow lunch.
Take Sentra for an extra long walk.

i''m all by myself? me on the couch with my favorite snacks and one of the many books in my to-be-read pile.

I guess it would depend on whether or not I had errands to do or things at home to take care of. If I had a day completely free to do whatever I wanted though, I''d try to sleep in a little. I''d also spend the day reading or baking, or I''d go to lunch or to the movies. I might use part of it to curl up and catch up on stuff I DVRd. If my friends also happened to have the same day off, I''d try to get together with them.

Have a fun day off Charbie!

oh how funny, I was just thinking of posting the same thread - I realized I''m posting too much here and need to go find something to do lol

If I have an unexpected day off, I sleep in! Get up around 9am, have a leisurely breakfast, take the dogs to the dog park, go to a yoga class.
I love making a big batch of something to eat for the rest of the week, like TP suggested. I also like cleaning the house if I have extra time. (not for everyone) Maybe paint your nails a fun summer color?

I second clearing out the DVR or catching up on some fun reading.

If the heat pump gets installed early, I have an outside of the house recommendation. Have you visited the new Union or Library at the ol'' alma mater? Friday would be the perfect day to go because finals end tomorrow and campus will have far less traffic than normal. If you haven''t been yet, they really are beautiful and super cool to explore!

I did go!!! I saw both...A.MAZE.ING. And I was able to see my "brick" that I paid for in the new Union...yay!

Are you still in the area? I''d love to catch lunch before you head to the land far far away from here...(doesn''t have to be Friday...just sometime...I''ve never actually met a PS''er in person.

Charbie, that would be crazy awesome! I also have never met a PSer offline--let alone one of my faves. Hopefully we get PS 2.0 soon and I will PM you my contact info. YAY!
