Dark Inclusion, automatically not "eye clean"?

Did you ask JA about the eye cleanliness of it? In that picture, it jumps right out at me. In real life, maybe not so much. If I had another alternative, I think I'd pass on the stone because of it but others are not so bothered. It's just a matter of how much and how often it shows up and how much tolerance you would have for something like that.

I notice three twinning wisps on the plot..., those need to be checked on a per stone basis!
Sometimes they are easily noticed with the naked eyes, sometimes not.

In the enlargement image its not noticeable, good potential?
 
No. Not only does my F/SI1 have a black inclusion, but it is under the table. It is totally eyeclean, and I struggle to even find it when I look for it.
 
I think the stone looks fantastic and it scores below 2 on the HCA. I would contact JA and put it on hold and have one of their gemologists review it.
 
You can't tell from the inclusion plot. The only way is to look at the stone in person. The one factor that many people don't think of is how the stone will be set and whether the inclusion can be seen from the side. That crystal inclusion may not be able to be easily seen from the top, but can it be seen from the sides? That is an important question to ask because most vendors are going to tell you whether the stone is eyeclean from the top only.
 
So if I decided to put it on hold and talk to a JA gemologist, what should I ask them? I've heard that I should ask if it's "eye clean" and what their definition of EC is? JA can also supply Idealscope and ASET images, so I'd expect to ask for those too?
 
I'd go ahead and choose two other potential stones because they can do all that (idealscope images and visual exam for eyecleaness) for all three. But I would be more specific and ask at what distance the stone is eyeclean and tell them you want to know from the sides as well.
 
I asked that JA examine the eye cleanliness critically and from all angles when I purchased my stone. I also told them what eye clean was to me and what I considered acceptable and unacceptable. I think that they did a great job assessing it as well, because I've yet to find an inclusion in my stone. (I refuse to loupe it though, sometimes ignorance is bliss :)) )

I agree with DS that you should choose a couple more stones as well so that the gemologist can compare the stones for you and make a recommendation based on the comparison.
 
Thanks so much for all of the advice. I've chosen another stone for comparison sake, both fit all of my criteria. I'm waiting on Idealscope images now. Might add a 3rd option if I can find a suitable one, but so far I'm happy with the options.

Both are ~1.5ct, 7.4+mm, I color, SI grade, GIA XXX, HCA <2 (X, X, X, VG).

One has the black inclusion, the other has a few wisps under the table. JA Assures me that they are both eye clean.

I'm thinking that once I see the Idealscopes, I can pick the best performer, make my final decision based on that and how I feel about the inclusions, and buy one! Figure I'll also post the options on PS for final opinions?

Anyone see anything wrong with that plan?
