I really do wonder why we don''t see more drop earrings here?? They are gorgeous and very pretty with long hair or when wearing one''s hair up. I wear a lot of drop earrings...not diamonds though, that will have to wait a while.
Ok, great, then I can imagine I''ve started a trend in thinking! ha

I think a pair of pear drop earrings would be fab! Here is a picture I found online of an awesome pair for everyday wear.
Ooooooooo, aaaaaaaaaaaaah. Just beautiful. The thing is, I am giving up the pear ering to get the earrings and I figured I''d better play it safe and go round--since I will not have anything else pear at this point to go with them. Does that make sense? And-my eternity band is all rounds. I do like the feminine look of a tear drop, though. Well, I am not going to let my mind wander. The rb''s are ordered and I am going to go to bed tonight dreaming of my sashaying (is that a real word?) earrings... I love looking at pictures--the possibilities...
Oh, ok. In that case...pretend the earrings contain rounds instead, LOL.
Done! lol lol I am just happy that I thought of it on a Friday. I always get "ideas" on the weekend when I can''t do a whole lot about it. I just hope the rounds don''t look to chunky doodle--you know, like globs on strings. (OK, you can tell I''m getting a little tired-I''m on the east coast and it''s getting past bed time. lol)

what will you do with your ering setting with no diamond, or are you just going to wear the eternity band??

You know, that is a burning question. It is the same question that lead to getting a stone put back in there--guilt. I felt like I should be using what I invested in. But, after wearing it all together for a couple of weeks, then trying just the eternity with the ering, it still didn''t sit right with me. I know this is going to sound a little strange, but I missed the mystique of wearing the eternity alone--it just looks super sophisticated all by itself--"grown up" for lack of better verbage. No one can figure it out, and I like it like that. (I really didn''t fall in love with diamonds until I was married for 16 out of my now 23 yrs-so I don''t carry any sentiment with the ering...) Also, I went to a family reunion recently where I was self concious around my cousin and her smaller ering and my aunt with her larger than life ering--it was an uneasy feeling. I just didn''t want to compete anymore. So, this way, I''m neutral.

Ah Julia, I think that gorgeous eternity ring can hold its own and drop earrings (leverbacks would be my choice) would be stunning!!! It''s all diamonds and it''s all good!

I absolutely love leverback or dangle diamond earrings....and I''m glad to see others feel that way two! To me they can be worn anywhere, anytime, but have just a touch more sparkle and ''sexiness'' than studs.

In fact, I wonder why we don''t see them more often around here????

I have always thought they were beautiful, but I''m afraid to wear danglies on a daily basis... old fear of having them pulled out or something ::sigh::

Tacori E-ring and I saw a lady today who had a gorgeous pear pendant, too!

Oh, that did cross my mind! I thought of taking the pear and making it a pendant. But-I already have something I wear every day that I am sentimental about. I love pears. Heck, I love everything.
Oh, I can SO relate to that!!!

I had screw backs on the studs, and Sundial it was such a chore to unscrew those things-then put them back in. If the backs didn''t automatically "stop" when they were supposed to, I had to unscrew and start over. Can anyone relate to that? (Ok, I''m weird.) Hope they''re not heavyish. Thanks for the endorsement-you know I had to hear what you had to say!

Good point. Well, with 4 Chihuahuas, it is entirely possible! Why do Chihuahuas have to stand on your head? lol

Hi, I''m Julia and I''m a diamondaholic...

I just did a search for "leverback" and wow, there are some pretty things out there. I am hoping that mine will hang loosely-you know-at a nice tilt or no tilt at all. We''ll see...

I actually thought about drop earrings before I purchased my studs. I really wanted a pair, and still do, but didn''t know if they''d "go" with everyday wear. I don''t know why I feel like they''re just a bit dressier, but I still hope to get a pair someday.

Can''t wait to see yours Julia!

Don''t forget that we''ll need to see pictures!!!

Your earings should look fab!

Love leverbacks and hanging diamonds. I am also surprised there aren''t more of them on ps. Was thinking of changing my studs to leverbacks, especially since my hair covers them.

The movement and visibility of 1 ct pears should be AWSOME!!!

Definately something to wear anyday or everyday......

Yes, I''m curious, too-how dressy will they be...I hope they will be alright for every day wear.

I don''t know how it started, but somehow I lead people to believe they will be pears...they won''t....they are rounds. I decided to go with rounds since I am giving up my pear engagement stone for the earrings and that will mean I have nothing else pear shaped. I''m into symmetry and all things kind of matchy matchy. Hence, they will be round, like the stones in my eternity band. I do think that pears make beautiful earrings, though. I think I''ll go w/ rounds for now, again to match the eternity (which is all I plan to wear on my left hand), and match a future round bracelet...

Oh my Sophie, I''ve had one. Actually, several. I had a couple of 2-ct ones and 2 1-ct ones that I enjoyed. You see, ever since I received my first rock (when I turned 40-long story-wasn''t really interested until later in our married life), I''ve been infatuated with the whole diamond "process." I''ve traded for different shapes (round, princess, emerald, pear), colors (d,e,f,g,h,i,j,k), clarity (between si2 and vvs1), an sizes (solitaires between 1 and 3 ct''s). I kept trading, for the thrill of it. I have a good upgrade policy and have had a lot of fun. I think I''ve traded 16 times (as some here can witness). In the end (?) of this "journey," I have learned a lot. Diamonds are so unique and absolutely intriguing.

Oh, Julia, you ARe a diamondaholic! Lol!

I don''t have the energy to search, so what are the stats again on the eternity band (size of stones and who made it?).

WOW!!

I hope to one day own something in all of the shapes and sizes

My husband started with Shane Co. and they have treated us fairly and up and beyond. I think I figured out that each stone is about .16 (there are 18) and it is 3 ctw. Platinum. I wuv it.

The thing I have not done, and someday hope I get the opportunity to do, is have something custom made. I''m so impressed with what people here talk about and get done...

Ok, I want to know what everyone thinks of how they should hang. I mean, there''s the idea of them hanging independently as an attachment like the earrings kcoursolle showed, or have them hanging attached to the leverback. I need a picture...let me go look for one...

What does everyone think:
1) leverback with diamond attached directly to the leverback earring
or
2) leverback with the diamond hanging free from a tiny hook/loop from the leverback earring
My husband is telling me he likes #1), because he does not want it to look like I am "one of those football players who wears the big swinging earrings." (I never knew he looked that closely.)

Here''s a picture of the type that is attached to the leverback instead of hanging. It''s a leon...so it''s gorgeous. I think you could really go either way with setting them. Either would be beautiful. Would you like them to swing a lot, or hang more sturdy? I think the swinging kind are a bit more formal.

Well, I have some news. The leverbacks are out. I started fretting with my husband this morning about the possibility of losing an earring-since the leverbacks would not technically "lock." He went to the jewelry place and they confirmed that the most secure thing would be studs. So, guess what-I''m getting studs. I just couldn''t live in them worrying about the possiblity of losing more than what my car costs per ear. I know this is the wise thing to do. *Sigh*
