Many many years ago before I found Pricescope my original engagement ring came from Zales. (I know but we didn’t know anything.) It was an IGI graded 0.41 Princess G SI1. I had it set in a plain basket pendant after we upgraded my ring. But I never wore it. I just wasn’t a fan of the setting. With the rise of lab diamonds I had a thought recently. What if I could find a relatively inexpensive matching diamond? I could make a set of earrings. I set out to find a matching diamond (well as close as I could come anyways). I knew my engagement diamond was also not a great cut and that the color was probably more like an I so that’s what I searched for. I found a “good” cut I VS1 0.40 Princess cut on Ritani that had similar enough dimensions to my diamond so I bought it hoping it would be a decent enough match. It wasn’t a perfect match but definitely good enough for this earring project and within the budget I had set.
I contacted Daniel M on Etsy again and he agreed to make me some white gold bezel settings and here we are! I think they turned out beautifully and I will definitely wear these more than the previous necklace setting. And bonus I bought a clearance Lightbox bezel set princess pendant so now I even have a matching necklace to go with the earrings.
