HCA rating 1.5

The #1 is eye clean so the better clarity doesn''t sway my opinion, I am more concerned about the different table/depth/cr/pa angles/and LGF. How much different would diamond #2 look? Would it look significantly brighter vs #1? How does the higher LGF% of diamond #2 change the look? Should I consider returning diamond #1 and getting #2? be honest.

What''s the price difference?

Just going by the numbers, as GIA rounds, so without a Sarin, we don''t really know all the numbers. The first stone would probably be bright, with more white light, less fire. Scintillation might be a bit more on the broadflash side, but again, hard to tell.

Second one could be very nice, with a good mix of white light and fire. Scintillation would be more pin flash.

Again, without Sarins, hard to say. Could you possibly get Sarins, or purchase the other one and compare?

I don''t think I can get Sarins... maybe on #1 since I have purchased it and plan to take to appraiser. Do appraisers do Sarins?

It would be a luxery to be able to compare the 2 side by side.

I don''t know if any appraisors have Sarin machines or not, but I kinda doubt it. At this point, I guess just look at the one you got with the appraisor and see what you and he think of it. Some people really like the look of the stone you''re getting.

The appraiser list, upper right under resources, includes for appraisers info concerning what equipment they were willing to divulge to Leonid at Pricescope that they had. Though most don''t have sarin and such, some do.

Consider also, in making an appointment with an appraiser, letting them know your objective, of comparing two diamonds towards purchase, indicating if it will be the case that one could only be described on paper or not, and hearing from them, in advance of your engagement, of how they think they think they can help you with that task.

Of course, a) depending on your location, and/or, b) any other factors that could allow you to understand you have a choice of appraisers to choose among, you could then decide, based on what you heard from them, which one you would select to work with.

Have you seen diamonds in person with larger/smaller tables? As stated above, the larger table will give less fire, more white light. Some really like this, others don''t. There will be a little more table glare on the 60% table, but it shouldn''t be a huge issue.

I''d choose #2, personally.
