Damsel in distress: looking for my own engagement ring.

Hi, everyone!
That's my first post here (not in my first language - sorry for any errors) and I'm begging for help.
After long and eventful arguments with my boyfriend, we have agreed that I'm going to be the one that choose my ring. Budget is 25k (a lot of money if you're from east Europe) so it should be easy, but it really isn't. Prices here are ridiculous. Our local companies cost as much as Tiffany does (SIC!) but with so much less quality etc. So here I am - in the Internet.
My dream is sparkly (!!!) solitaire ring with big stone (round cut) and very slim pave, also with our initials on the back (like in Lady Gaga ring, not the biggest fan, but her engagement ring was amazing. Love how every element is filled with diamonds. Out of my reach sadly. :blackeye: )

I think it's cute and unique, even though front can remain simple and classy.
So I've been reading this forum for some time, acknowledge some things - cut is the most important thing, color from G-J are still fine and quite white, till VS2 it's ok, etc. I have also learned about lab diamonds. Nonetheless, I can't make head or tail of it.
Yeah, I need some reality check: *what* can I get for 25k? Some info *where* would be awesome too. 8)
Thanks in advance for any answers. :halo:

Just a word of caution - if you have those initials on the palm side/bottom of the band, you may risk smacking the ring and losing melee, and you won't be able to resize the ring with diamonds all around the band if you gain or lose weight.

Does your budget include import fees and VAT? And $25k is for BOTH the diamond and the setting? Just need to clarify before providing recommendations!

I also agree with Pinto Bean, having the initials on the underside like that is not the best idea. You may just be better off having the engraving of the initials inside of the ring. No one will be able to see it but you'll know it's there!

No, 25k is for the full ring only - diamond and the setting. :)
Damn, I have never thought about that, but you're both right. And inside sounds nice too! More intimate.

Thanks for such a complex answer! About the setting - I don't really like those with edges. Round ones are more subtle. :) But again - THANK YOU. :)

Whiteflash has many settings to look through! You need good quality pave so you don't have stones falling out - and generally, no less than 1.8-2.0mm width is recommended for durability.

Brian Gavin has some very nice quality pave settings, but I didn't see any stones in his inventory above 2cts in your price range:

If I had that kind of money I would get something from Victor Canera or Steven Kirsch. It will probably cost you $5k for the
setting alone though. Here are some options...

http://stevenkirsch.com/gallery/destiny-two/ take pave off donut for both of these so they dont scratch wedding band

https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/2.01-carat-i-color-vvs2-clarity-Truehearts-cut-sku-1833918 AGS000

Edit...

Here is a 2.3 I (there are lots of I colored stones in your budget)
STOCK # R230-360521390 (enter in search box)

2.13 H ...request idealscope or aset

With a 25k budget I feel VERY strongly you would be getting a full 2 carats for your center stone.

This is what I'd go with.

Let's leave 3.5k for your setting. That means

DID YOU ALREADY COUNT ON IMPORT AND TAXES INTO YOUR BUDGET??

I would personally be all over these stones:
http://www.b2cjewels.com/dd-8615586-2.01-carat-Round-diamond-F-color-VS2-Clarity.aspx?sku=8615586&utm_source=pricescope.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=pricescope.com (needs an idealscope or ASET)
https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/2.00-carat-g-color-si1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-1898956

With this stone as a second place contender: https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/2.02-carat-h-color-si1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-1969909 (this one needs an idealscope or ASET image though).

And then I would get this setting:

Or this one:

Or this one:

2 carats it's a dream come true.

And, no, I did not. I didn't even think about it. We're travelling A LOT, so I guess to avoid European taxes we'll buy it while visiting US.

Hi, if anyone is still here - if I choose I color stone, is it possible to fill pave with similar color diamonds? To avoid bringing out yellowish of the main stone?
