Good Morning Ladies.
This morning in order t get back in the swing of things I did 90 min of the eleptical machine. It kicked my bum but I am glad I finished it out. I hope everyone elsees Tuesday is going well.

Damn, Miss Matatora- 90 minutes is KILLER on the elliptical (and I think is what the experts suggest for continued weight loss) Way to go, girl

I didn''t even get my dinky 1 hour in yet- a very loud purring cat woke me at 3:00 and sleep was iffy from that point on- I already told my boss I''m leaving early and hitting the gym!!!!

MY lunch yesterday was crazy- too much bad food left me feeling yucky, so I really need to get that workout in today to reach my 2lb goal loss this week.....

Hope everyone has a great day as this month slips away.....

Matatora, you continue to astound me with your elliptical workouts!!! I am so tired after 35 minutes, I can''t imagine doing 90!

YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very impressive! I wish I could do 90 minutes of anything without getting tired, or distracted.

I rode my bike 4 miles round trip to the gym and did an hour long muscle strength conditioning class. It kicked my butt!

I was all ready to workout this morning, but the alarm went off and my bf turned it off quickly so I didn''t hear it. He apparently thought spooning is a much more productive morning activity... I''m sure he won''t feel the same way when my butt is just as big in a couple of months!

I have my trainer tomorrow morning. I''m going away to the beach tomorrow night for a long weekend. I''m going to ask my trainer to give me some beachy exercise tips. Anyone else have any? I''m going to try to counter act my eating and drinking to excess with some fun stuff!

Ap-Walking/jogging in the sand is great it requires more of your body. I know you are going to do well this weekend. Perhaps your BF likes your bum the way it is.
Msflutter- WOW you rode your bike to the gym and then did an hour class! I am uber impressed. 90 minutes is not too bad ifyou have a playlist you like or a book on tape.
When I have to stick to it I need a story to keep my mind of the fact that I am a a sticky tubby mess.

That is excellent!!! During the last 2-3 weeks, I have been very conscientous of exercising daily and fitting in 2-3 times a week a visit to the gym and the personal trainer. I kinda fell flat this weekend though...Husband took me to a very nice restaurant that we had a gift card for(it was from our 4 oldest kids from Christmas and we re-found it so we thought we better use it b4 we re-lose it!

). Food was great...the margaritas were huge and powerful...then we went dancing and kicked some serious butt on the dance floor and laughed alot....total fun.

Sunday we had company for dinner and I cooked like crazy...I had been doing really well on low carbs and high protein...till I took a bite of oven roasted red potatoes and boom...I felt horrible about it.

I also had ice cream.

For the most part, I have done sensational...then this. Its back to the drawing board...and the gym.

well last week it took a while for me to get back inot the swing of working out, but on wed i did a few laps around the park, then thurs night we went to dinner at a place that is about 1/2m away so we walked and then i at least felt better about downing cornbread with butter and a bread putting.

on friday night we took the train into mountain view and walked around and to and from the train station etc so that was about 2.5 miles total for the night. so again kind of different and fun.

i need to add my kboxing workouts back to the walking again...i just am sooo lazy about getting up and getting ready and going to the gym (5 min away, hello!!). also our instructor would torture me for not showing up for 2 months.

wow 90 minutes?? i guess that leaves me with a new goal. i did 35 minutes today. i (sigh) just don''t have the time... i wonder what''s the best workout to do in 30-40 minutes. i go Monday - Friday, but i am thinking of adding Saturday too. I use to take kick-boxing. I need to look into that again, it''s been so long. i think they offer that on Saturdays.

The other trainer finally called last night to tell me he has no openings available. Tonight, though, I am meting him in the gym and he will suggest some other people who also have orthopedic backgrounds. Still haven''t heard back from the one who called me Sunday.

I really miss taking classes. My gym in the buiding, although very convient, is very limited. When I was at the top of my game I was doing spin twice a week, step once a week and weights twice a week...

what is wrong with these people??!! for the money they make per hour ( and getting to make their own schedules) you''d think someone would be available...I am amazed, though, by the number of trainers working at my gym at any given time. Most mornings between 5-8am I count at least 6 different trainers and each seem to book one client after another. If I can ever afford to do the trainer thing at least I''ll try booking ahead

Thanks, I know it sounds crazy!! But it's like if they don't have the time to do it, then why force us gym members to only be able to use the personal trainers employed at the gym?!?

Depending on how often I use a personal trainer, I'm not really sure that my budget can actually afford it. But I have felt like crap many times after I have worked out. I don't think my body can do what it did when I was younger and I have always had wrecked knees and spine. So I'll give it a try. If I can walk without pain the next day, then it will be worth it!
2.gif
No joke or exaggeration -> Many times I have not been able to walk up stairs with out leaning hard on the railing the the day after I have worked out.

Hey Buena - best of luck with the continuing trainer fiasco. I am in a similar boat and thinking of going to a trainer for a similar reason - yesterday I did 30 minutes instead of my usual 50-60, but on the Stairmaster - it kicked my butt but unfortunately it also killed my knee and today it hurts to walk
7.gif
However, I have been having WAY too many treats, so its time to start being better about my diet again. I''m dreading my weigh-in this week...

Way to go Matatora on the 90 minute elliptical - I just never have the time for that (plus there''s always the people that glare at me at my gym, because of the time limits).

I also just got the bad news that my gym will be closed from August 26-September 6
39.gif
This is particularly obnoxious because the University I work at is opening another gym that I will also get free membership to as a graduate student, but they aren''t opening it until a few weeks AFTER that
29.gif
I am really annoyed. Especially because between my asthma and my bad knee, running outside is really not a great option. So I''m not sure what I''ll do during that time except maybe go for some long walks. Any creative suggestions would be really appreciated!!

Wow Matatora! 90 mins? That''s great endurance! I can only go on the elliptical for 30 mins before I start feeling like I''m going to pass out!
14.gif
How many miles is 90 mins? It usually takes me 25 mins to do 3 miles. I did 3.3 miles today in 27 mins and I''m pretty proud of it!

I just finished working out for 75 mins. 5 mins stretching, 27 mins on the elliptical, 10 mins lifting weights, 25 mins pilates routine, and a few mins resting and drinking water. I feel great right now!!! I love the way I feel after a good workout!
16.gif

I used to walk 3 miles with my friend everyday after we get off work. We have this resevoir 2 blocks from my house and going once around is one mile, plus it''s on a hill, so good workout for the butt.
1.gif
But the city started doing some sort of construction on it 6 months ago and we haven''t been walking since.
15.gif
So I had to buy the elliptical. But I love working out in the outdoors. Esp, when it''s not really hot, but the sun''s still out, like around 6pm during the summer. It''s great. We get to walk around the resevoir and the sun starts to set, we get to see the ocean with sunset on one side and when we get to the other side of the resevoir, we get to see Golden Gate Bridge with the fog rolling in....the walk was worth it just for the view!

I did two back to back 90 minute power yoga classes, which is really only about 120 minutes of weight loss exercise because the other part is stretching and savasana. I walk there and it''s about 20 minutes round trip. There is a great Shaolin Kung Fu place here in the city and I would love to take classes there, but I can''t afford to right now. I get yoga for free because I volunteer at two different stuidos and my friend works at Exhale so I get free classes there too. My body is getting more toned in some areas, but I really need to add something else. We just walked to the movie theater and saw "Must Love Dogs" and Diane Lane was wearing a Juicy Couture hoodie in one scene and it was loose on her, even at my skinniest the XL Juicy hoodies are tight and show at least 2 inches of whatever I wear under them. I need to eat better for sure, today I ate two english muffins with peanut butter, a power bar, cheese puffs, movie popcorn, and gummi bears. Basically I eat like shit, I think that is most of the problem. Oh well, maybe this thread will get me on track.
