Good morning Workout Buddies!

1st- congrats to Teebee for that wonderful weight loss! You go girl!

I just got back from the gym, I''m still taking the attitude that no matter what I will fit in gym time at least 4x a week, whether it''s at 5

0 am, lunch time or after work. I used to be very stubborn, if I didn''t get up at 5 am then no workout for me! I was up later than I wanted to be last night, so I set the alarm for 6 and it all worked out just fine! (it also helps that I have the fortune of being a salaried employee who works on flex time- I have to work 10 hr days, but I get to start work when I want to, so there isn''t really any being late as long as I''m able to work later.) I went back to doing cardio x-train on the elliptical today for 45 min- it felt like a good workout and I was able to use my heart monitor again so my readings were more accurate. Still didn''t do the strength training I need to do- why can''t I just do it???? That is where I need a gym buddy!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day, today is my Nana''s 94th birthday! She''s my only surviving Grandparent, quite a handful- whenever I take care of her and ask her what she wants for dinner she has one answer- whiskey and chocolate! Go Nana!!!!

Fantastic fff! You''re doing such a great job. Weight training is difficult to do on your own. That''s why I have a trainer. No way would I do four sets of 10 of anything if I was by myself. I just found out that I won''t be able to see him during the week for a while since will be teaching this boot camp class at the gym he works at during the time I see him. However, I''m thinking that maybe the gym will let me take the class... it''s one hour a day, five days a week, for six weeks. That will definitely get me into shape!

I''m going dress shopping today for my birthday party this weekend... everyone will be casual but I''ll be in party dress... should be interesting. Let''s hope that there are no disasters!

Happy Birthday to your Nana, fff! You are lucky to still have her.

Thanks FFF!! And happy birthday to your Nana!!!! I have a Nana too, but I pronounce it funny (like Nanaw), and she is almost 79 and one of the most precious people on the earth and one of my best friends ~ Nana''s are special aren''t they?

Anyhow, I spent about 45 minutes on the stationary bike... it''s not all that tough on me but it keeps my heart rate up and it''s good for my knee right now. I''ll do my video later... I stayed up late late late studying for my exam so I think I need a nap before I try to tackle squats & lunges... I really can''t stand lunges... But, I have to admit that they are getting easier and the reverse lunges are much easier for me than the regular forward lunges ~ not sure why, but I just tend to have better form on them...

Anyhow, off to a midafternoon nap!!!

FFF! You are such an inspiration for your dedication and persistance!!!

Have a great time with your Nana!! What a special birthday treat for her!!

Hey girls - way to go everyone on great progress.

I was wondering if any of you has tried weight watchers? If so, what was your experience like? And how active were you while you were on it? I know a couple of people for whom it has worked really well, but one of my concerns is that I tend to have a pretty big appetite and I also tend to be very active (I will be going to the gym this afternoon for my normal hour of cardio, which I try to do at least 3 times a week, and when my schedule is a little more calm than it is now, I usually work out 4-6 days a week, with a minimum of 45 minutes intense cardio per day, plus I am pretty active from day to day in terms of walking around, etc...). I am wondering if people felt deprived doing this or if it just took some getting used to? Was it really hard to keep track of points consistently or did you find yourself not thinking about it after a while? Did you feel that this was a good long term solution?

Thanks in advance for the insight.

I did Weight Watchers a number of times. The first time, and my most serious attempt, was fantastic. I was very active and followed everything very closely. Like every diet, you feel deprived at first because you''re on a diet and it seems that''s the way you''re supposed to feel. For me, it really worked. I lost about 20 pounds in about 3 months. The points are not that difficult, but you really need to write them down. WW now has a new program where you don''t need to keep track of points, but from what I understand the points are way more successful way to lose weight.

PM me if you have any questions or want further information.

Good luck!

My girlfriend started WW and within a month has lost 10 lbs. She wants to lose about another 10 but she likes it so far, eats their meals for lunch and does her own healthy thing for dinner. So I guess if you really do it and follow it like she has, it can work. She just wants to get down a bit and then maintain. She has hit a plateau and been stuck at 10lbs for a week now, so she just started exercising doing the ballet bar class to ramp it up a bit.

Dont get upset if it doesnt work for you ASAP those programs assume you are way over eating to produce results. Just be 100% honest and dont generlize. Also I think writing down everything you eat and drink will help oddles. Congrats to having your Nana yea for you!

FFF- Congrats to your Nana for having such a long full life, and what sounds like a delightfully firey personality!

Workout gals- time for me to catch up on my progress. Mon and Wed I went to kickboxing bag class, and Thursday I did weights. As for clothing fitting differently, I haven''t noticed much of a change, and the number on the scale has not moved.

But bf did last night make the comment that my butt look perkier- so I will take what I can get and use that as motivation that this is working :)

Good job all, keep it up!
