Good morning friends and fellow p.s.ers-

Hope everyone is doing well, especially Madarsky, who was feeling really lousy the past few days!

I took it up a notch on w/my elliptical workout this am and did a 45 min x-training program that was great! intervals, different rpms, pushing, pulling, going forward, going backward- you get the idea. I really worked up a sweat!! I now need the strength to survive a business lunch today at one of my favorite haunts. I''m planning on a grilled veggie salad w/shrimp thrown in but their blue cheese burger is to die for!!!
Please send some willpower my way.....

Have a wonderful day...we''re due for snow here in NY today...maybe I can get out of the office early to do some drooling over the cathy waterman collection at twist.com, got my eye on the swirl ring for a rhr

You''re doing awesome!!! So are all of the other ladies, too. Very inspiring! I know you''ll stay strong at lunch. IMHO grilled veggies and shrimp are to die for when prepared well, but then again, I can''t stand beef.

I think the last time I ate burger was elementary school. One of those scenarios with mom-> "this is what I''ve cooked for dinner, just eat some of it". ...blechhhhhh....

Now grilled veggies, that''s a different story. LOVE LOVE LOVE my veggies!!! And there is nothing in this world like freshly prepared shrimp. It is de-veined and and not very chewy. It has a little bit of light, not really flaky but more like it separates easily in your mouth with each bite, kind of sensation. And being in MD, I am hugely in favor of Old Bay seasoning. I''ve seen one or two people carry a travel size Old Bay in their purse to give their food a lil'' something extra. BON APETIT !!!!!!!

As for me, I have not gone to the gym as yet

But, I have exciting news. My sister is going to join my gym in March! This will be perfect, because we worked out at the same gym when we were younger and she is a great motivator. And, b/f is on-board for trying to eat healthier. He said [jokingly] "this year for lent he has decided to give up ..... 10 pounds of fat"

Here is a little dieting trick we started this week. This won''t work for everyone, but it really helps us to not snack on empty calories that we are really not hungry for: We have been weighing ourselves in the evenings, at least a couple hours after the last food you have eaten for the day. For me this works because I am not too discouraged if the numbers on the scale fluctuate (in fact, last night, I was a half pound heavier), and it makes me really analyze everything I put into my mouth for the whole day. "Do I really need to eat this? It will still be in my system tonight when I weigh myself." Also, since I know I need to wait a few hours until I weigh myself after eatting the last food for the day, it helps me to not have any evening snacks. This will NOT work for anyone who will be discouraged by gaining a few pounds. Our bodies fluctuate, especially during certain times of the month, and the scale will show "weight gain" even though we haven''t had any "mass gain".

ooohhh, sorry this post is long....BEST WISHES EVERYONE

Good job FF - and ummm...I agree with Buenagirl that that salad sounds better than the burger (on the other hand, I''m a vegetarian

).

I''m in limbo at the moment, my trainer called this morning to say she couldn''t make our 10am appt, but could do it later or tomorrow, so I''m waiting to hear back about when it''ll be. I will be going to the gym today, just not sure if it''s to meet her or get in the cardio I was supposed to do tomorrow.

Buenagirl - that''s an interesting technique. I don''t freak out over slight fluctuations, but I couldn''t do that weighing method because I drink SO much water. I generally try not to weigh myself more than every few days, preferably once a week anyway. It''s just fun for me to see the bigger drops.

Thanks for the nice feedback, Buena and Blue! Wish I could kick the beef habit but there are just some of us who have that burger craving from time to time.

Buena- I''m a tabasco girl myself- there''s a bottle in my purse right now!
I''m glad to hear sis is joining your gym- I wish my sister could be my gym buddy, but she lives a little too far away. I bet that if I weighed myself that often I''d become obsessed, but I am trying to write everything down so I can analyze what I need to change. I''ll let everyone know if it works for me.

Blue- I can''t remember if I added a post after you got engaged but I loved your story, your ring (& Jay''s watch- my bf also wants a Tag) and the pictures! What a cute couple!!!

Where''s poor Madarski?? Lets hope she''s feeling better

Hi girls!!! I wish I was feeling better too!!!! I ended up being at work for closer to 9 hours last night. I think it really drained me!! I didn''t sleep any better last night either. It''s like I have an internal alarm that has to have me up every 3 hours exactly!! I tried getting someone to cover my shift today, but no luck so far!!! YUCK!!!!

Thanks so much for all your kind wishes!!!

I wish I could work out!!! I was doing so well with making it a habit. I''m afraid these days off are going to break my routine. You''ll just have to get my Fatty McFatterson butt back in line as soon as I''m feeling better.

Good job on the elliptical today!!! Stay away from the burger, stay away from the burger, stay away from the burger...............

That should be my mantra. Some days I feel like I just cannot live without a bacon cheeseburger. I wish I loved veggies!!! There are only a select few that I care for. I''m trying to expand my horizons.

I''m back to working crazy hours as well. I worked out only 3x. I''ve been ashamed to type. It''s a bit depressing. I''ve been feeling a lil'' sick lately. I have these really bad pains coming from my back/kidney area (going to Doc''s office Saturday). These daily threads are still VERY inspiring. Thanks Ladies and hats off for the dedication.

ARG. Well, I''m missing the gym today.

My trainer kept me hanging long enough that I had to eat lunch, and I''ve been too full for cardio since (I don''t handle food well with cardio). We rescheduled training for tomorrow, and I guess I will have to make it up today''s workout this weekend. I''m not too bummed about that since we''re going to be in VT and I can go snowshoeing or a little something like that.

Madarski - Fatty McFatterson? Funny

I''m sure you can get back into your routine if you don''t let this time off get you down. It''s not your fault, you can get back into the swing of things when you kick this illness.

FF - oh, I understand the carnivore and their cravings. :) I just don''t have them. I crave really healthy things like...oh, deep fried cheese sticks. :P So what did you go with for lunch?

Thanks so much for your congratulations

We are having so much fun right now!

Cutegirl - Oh no! Everyone''s getting sick. Obviously it''s working too hard, so I prescribe immediate vacations, for everyone on PS. I hope you''re feeling better soon though.

Hey everyone!

Fontain: You are doing so well! I love it that you always post first thing in the morning. It''s like having a personal wakeup alarm. Keep up all of your amazing work! Will power....grr... I love a burger. I would say that my favorite food is a macdonald''s big mac. Except lately, (even though it is totally unfounded) I am terrified of the whole mad cow thing, so I''ve starved off beef. It''s only a matter of time before I revert though...

Buena: It''s great that you are getting a gym buddy. It will make it so much easier for you to stay on course.

Blue: Ahh.. tomorrow is a new day. You''ll go to the gym then. Don''t worry about it. When I work out after I eat I get tummy aches.

Cute: I hope you feel better. Get lots of rest, you might be able to fight it off before it hits you hard.

As for me, I''m doing well. No binging all week, and I''ve lost 3 pounds total. I only have to lose three more to be my happy weight. Although I''m not sure if it''s because I''ve been eating well or I am extremely stressed. I hope I don''t gain it back as soon as my stress is gone!
