GIA grading report

I've requested ASET images.

Is there anything wrong with this diamond? Would you buy it? Why or why not?

And I know I could get a bigger diamond for the same price if I lowered my standards, but for special reasons I'm not interested in doing that.

If it's a JA branded one like that, it probably performs pretty well. Those angles could be good, but GIA rounds those numbers, as you know.

It's hard to say without images, which you're quite right to request before committing to a purchase. I'd ask for both Ideal-Scope and ASET, as sometimes seeing both can help one get a better idea of the expected performance. Your eyes will be the true test.

Thanks for clarifying (pun intended) your consideration of the clarity and color choice.

Other than waiting on the images, it sounds like it could be a real little sparkler! And definitely " mind clean" to boot! :wavey:

Also, will I have to worry about a thin girdle cracking or chipping? I work as a nurse and in turn use my hands a lot.

If it is a True Hearts stone, the images are right there on the webpage. Can you link it for us? It probably is fine since it is a True Hearts, but I'd like to see the idealscope or ASET and hearts image. You do not need an ASET on a round as long as there is an idealscope image.

A thin girdle is fine. But any diamond can chip or crack if whacked hard enough in just the right direction, so the rule of thumb is to insure any diamond ring that you would be uncomfortable replacing yourself if it was lost or damaged.

Beautiful! Just make your arrow go over the two circular images below the True Hearts label and you'll see the idealscope and hearts images. They are fine. You don't need an ASET. Congrats on finding a very special stone!

On the hearts image, what do you think is causing the marks at the 7 o clock hour? It's IF so I know there's no internal inclusions, could those be polishing marks? Will they be visible?

No and no. It's a simple photo artifact. Either a tiny hole in the viewer's filament paper, something reflective on the inside of the viewer, etc. It has nothing to do with the diamond.

HCA: 1.5
Girdle: thin (faceted) 2.5 %
Price: $1,780 (I think)

Based on all information presented, seems great to me.
