Is this a good deal for a cushion modified brilliant?

measurements 8.15 * 6.76 * 3.81 mm
1.77 ct.
D color
Clarity SI1
Polish very good
symmetry good
flour medium blue

I am concerned about the SI1 most.. thoughts?
Thanks.

Price?
Depth?
Table?
Picture or have you seen it?
Eye clean?
IS?

Scintillating...

What is IS?

IS = Ideal Scope.

ah yes, of course! I don''t know.. just have the intial info from the GIA report.. I will let you know though!

Well, as much as I love D''s, I would not really ever consider them a good deal. You pay alot for something that most people cannot see the difference in from a E, F, or G.

Well the symetry is only a Good. That might bother me. Have you seen the stone yet? Or a photo of it?

Fancy cuts need to be seen to judge the beauty of them. As Jazmine says, you will pay a premium for a D colour. You can''t go completely by the numbers with a fancy cut, although they give you a starting point, see if the vendor can send you a picture of the diamond in the first instance. An SI1 as it is GIA graded will probably be fine, ask the vendor if it is eyeclean and what the grade setting inclusion is, where it is located etc.

Is the medium flo in a D stone a disadvantage? I know med flo is not an issue in most stones, but somewhere I heard that you wanted to avoid it in a D color. Familiar to anyone??

I think the only way I''d want a D stone is IF it had med flour... if it was just plain white I dunno that it would rock my boat, but if it was violet glowing white I''d say bring it on!!!!

There is a certain icy crispyness to a True "D" Colour Diamond, in particular Cushions......, which the "others" dont have...

And if they possess a high crown %, thats where the "bonus" of the "D" colour is!!!!

The trade discounts it in the colorless range. Why? - never had an explaination that I could say "Oh, I see".
