I AM A NOVICE WHEN IT COMES TO DIAMONDS, THEREFOR I''VE BEEN DOING A LITTLE RESEARCH AND HAVE DECIDED TO LOOK INTO PURCHASING THE MOST COLORLESS (D) EYECLEAN (S1) DIAMOND. I HAVE READ THESE FORUMS FROM PRICESCOPE FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS AND WOULD LOVE FOR SOMEONE TO TELL ME WHY IS THERE SUCH A SCARCE AMOUNT OF D COLOR S1 DIAMONDS? I HAVE ONLY BEEN LOOKING FOR THE BEST CUTS. BLUENILE SIGNATURE IDEAL, WF H&A, AND GOG ACA''S. I AM ONLY SEARCHING FOR PREMIUM CUTS AS I WANT A DIAMOND WITH THE MOST SPARKLE, FIRE AND BRILLIANCE. I AM ROUGHLY LOOKING FOR A DIAMOND ABOUT 1.2 CARATS. ONCE AGAIN MY QUESTION IS WHY ARE THERE SUCH A SCARCE AMOUNT OF RB, PREMIUM CUT, D COLOR S1 DIAMONDS? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR RESPONSES.

I have no idea why that is honestly, BUT I can tell you that unless having a D is very important to you, you could safely go down to F, and even G if you don''t mind venturing out of the true "colorless" range, and save yourself a LOT of $.

Almost no one can tell the difference unless they are unset, next to each other, and on a white sheet of paper.

Hey Jetguy,
. D's are rarer. I found some D's using this tool. https://www.pricescope.com/sift.aspx Hope this helps

Neatfreak is right. Why do you want a D? If that is what you like then stick w/a D.

Umm... the font and all caps thing you''ve got going is a little difficult to read. Can you please use a more ''normal'' font? Thanks!

And welcome!

I don''t know...why is it hard to find a K IF stone? (BTW, MaryAlaina here has one - a pear I believe - but that''s besides the point) - D color stones are rarer, just like IF clarity stones are rarer.

My stone is a D VS2...had the inclusions been bigger it could have dropped to SI1...but basically it''s an educated guessing game when it comes to assessing rough for what the final cut stones will come out to be.

If you''re set on a D (I''d look at E and F if you''re intent on staying in the ''colorless range'' though - hard to distinguish between a D and they''ll be cheaper) then you''ll need to expand your range on clarity perhaps.

I have a 2.12ct D SI1 (totally eyeclean) RB....GIA EX,EX,EX that I just love, love, love....
It did take ages to find...you just have to ask yourself why it is you need those specs....I''m super colour sensitive, and of course cut ''is king'', so then eyeclean was my priority...so this worked for me, but they did seem to be harder to find.
When I was looking I didn''t limit myself to this combination.

Having had a D SI1 diamond and now a F SI1, I would highly encourage you to go down in color to an E or F. It would still be colorless. I don''t notice a difference at all. It will save you money and give you more diamonds to choose from.

I cant even begin to read your post with all those BOLDED CAPS yelling at me. Can you re post in normal font please so we can read it more easily? Thanks.
