Hello,
Many people have said CUT is the most important thing.....

Looking at my certified valuations I noted the following comments on cut (each line is a seperate diamond):-
1) well cut with excellent symmetry and a polished faceted girdle edge - 1.01 VS2 i-j
2) medium - thin bruted girdle edge - 0.71 VVS2 i
3) well cut with thin bruted girdle edges - 0.42 VS1 h

At all my valuations even menthioned CUT.....

My questions:-
1) What are the CUT grading? ie from VVS1 to P3
2) Are my above diamonds ok in cut?

Labs do not know how to grade cut yet.
2 are doing rounds
i is doing about 3 other sahpes as well
Even those that do it have not worked it out yet have a long way to go.
Grading for sparkle based stones does not seem to work well for step cuts for example.
For example an one shape of ''ideal'' might have 20% less performance than another ideal cut of a different shape acording to the same lab

You can say that again 3 times.
They get their beauty in different ways.
I don't think there ever will be a grading system that works what I would consider well for asschers and EC.
Interpreting pictures works the best and that is something computers don't do well. (live viewing of course works even better)

To your question - can't tell without pics and alot more numbers. But best bet would be an independent appaisal so they can be viewed "live". As strm said pics can go some way toward helping, but nothing beats the real deal.
