just came across an ex cut stone w// all the good numbers that is graded very good and comment as "cut grade affect by brillianteering", what does that mean?

In the vast majority of cases I have seen it means the girdle is overly painted. This article explains painting and digging.

It is best to ask the vendor what effect this has on the stone, or better yet, get an ASET image.

You see this sometimes, GIA will penalize a diamond for painting/brillianteering and this will be noted in the comments section, the link from Jogia explains further. An image such as ASET or Idealscope will show to what extent this affects the diamond. Sometimes painting can be of benefit and enhance desirable visual properties of a diamond, but GIA will downgrade nevertheless for it apparently.

this is the one i am looking at. the gia report and real image is on the website too. could someone tell me how they look before i call them for idealscope image? thanks!
It has potential, an Idealscope is the next step to see how the diamond looks and to see to what extent any brillianteering has affected it, it could be perfectly fine and definitely worth further evaluation.

hum...does that mean it''s no good?
