Experts, please help me! I bought a diamond 2.07 ct / VS2 / Princess cut / H color/ GIA certified/Depth 74.7%/Table 71% ... Now the diamond has arrived and the expert tells me that it is brilliant cut princess... I have never heard a brilliant princess... The expert says that there is a slight curve with the edge... Does that mean the price of the diamond drops because of a curve? What is the price I should be looking to pay incase the price is lower? Is this a good diamond? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Welcome!

Can you give some more info as to who this expert is please? I don't know what they mean by a curve unless they mean the edges have been slightly rounded ( known as chamfering) this can help protect the corners if so, can you give some more details on what was said about this curve? A princess is sometimes referred to as a square modified brilliant or words to that effect, you normally see this on the GIA report as they do not use the term Princess. If you could post the dimensions in mm and the girdle thickness, that would be useful too.

It''s a local jeweller ... The measurements are 6.68 X 6.69 X 4.99 ... Girdle: Very Thick... After the diamond arrived, he said that the edges of the diamond have a slight curve not visible? Is that bad or is the prcing affected? He used the word brilliant cut... What does that mean? Thanks for your replies...

The GIA certificate reads "Square modified diamond with a slightly outward curve". Can any body give me an opinion on what that means? Thanks
