The HCA is a screening tool. Scores below 2.0 are good. If you search for AGS0 Ideal cut stones, you really don''t have to even put those through the HCA. It is useful for GIA Excellents, though, to see if they fall within AGS0 parameters.
The scores are not really different, a lower score isn''t better than a higher one. The HCA is used by seeing which stones score below 2 to see which diamonds are worth further evaluation. This is done with ASET and Idealscope images, plus trusted vendor and or appraiser input.Date: 5/22/2009 10:53:32 PM

When looking at round diamonds when you put the specs of a diamond into the cutadvisor prgram and a diamond scores a 1.2 versus a.9, which is better? How are they different?
