Hi, ladies (and gents?)!

I'm posting a rather silly question, but it's been bugging me all evening! I recently received a limited edition Burberry watch. However, it came in a regular box with no leather watch box, no special packaging, and no special information about the limited edition release. Am I right to be disappointed? Aren't most watches packaged in a leather watch box? I expected more fanfare, especially when the production was limited to under 100 pieces and the price was so high! I know you all must think I'm spoiled rotten to be making a fuss.

I posted this to Jewelry Pieces already, but I'm asking here to get some general etiquette/customer service advice. Thank you! I'll link to my original thread in case anyone wants to see it:

Hmmm I would certainly expect that, seems a little strange that it was so plain

Did you buy it at the store. if so then yes I would expect that.

Bella,

It was preordered directly from the Burberry website.

It is odd that the watch was sent in a plain box. That aside, from the photo in your other thread, the watch looks gorgeous. If I were you, maybe just ignore the packaging (not let it bum you out) and enjoy your new watch!

What a gorgeous watch! You could contact Burberry about it and ask if that''s how they always send their watches? Maybe they''d be able to send you a nicer box if they have them?

Thanks for your kind replies, MC and Kitcha!

I get my watch back this Sunday after having sent it in for sizing. Maybe it will come in a new, pretty box? I''ll enjoy wearing it regardless.... Will update with pics! :)

I''d ditto the others and try to enjoy your lovely new watch and not worry about the packaging. As long as you have whatever documentation you need to be sure this is really what you ordered, then beyond that it doesn''t really matter.

Actually, if you want a bright side, I''d say this is a *perfect* opportunity to go out and buy a really beautiful watch case/jewelry box to put it in

Hi there.

I am sorry your watch didn''t come packed right. It is strange. I am not a Burberry collector so I don''t know what it should have come with but when it comes back call a different store and ask what would come with it (as if you had not bought already) then call your store and ask for/demand whatever was missing.

I am fanatical about my LV and d.e.m.a.n.d all the official paraphernalia. Every time. If I forget something I will let my SA know and she sends it out. So believe me I am not judging you

I looking forwards to your pics.

Yaaah, glad you love your watch!

I''m not a fan of Burberry (for reasons I won''t mention here - I''m glad you love it), but if I am not mistaken, that is how they package some of their watches. If it is a limited edition, though, I would call and ask them about paperwork on that, so you can have it in case you ever sell it or want to insure it.

MonkeyPie,

Thanks for the response. But now I''m curious! Can you share your reason here, if it''s not a rude question?

I was especially surprised because my bf''s "standard" Burberry watch came in a nice leather box. I guess the packaging for bracelet style watches could be different? In any case, we are contacting them to discuss the packaging and paperwork.

I wouldn''t think the packaging is a big deal. Maybe some watches come with different packaging?

I don''t mind, I just didn''t want to rain on your parade - google Bloody Burberry if you can stomach it
