A couple of vendors whose work I like won't set a diamond you aren't buying from them (understandably)
I know of Victor Canera in LA, but what are some other designers people here have experience with who will do a custom E-ring with the center stone I've purchased?
Solitaire with micro pave on the shanks, and I want them to come up with some interesting mounting underneath the diamond. This is where my terminology shows a lot of weakness... I'm not great at putting into words what I want yet.
I can only speak from my personal experience…and Caysie (at CvB Inspired Design) is SUPER creative and has amazing ideas for settings (especially when it come the the "gallery")!!! She is a true artist and her work is gorgeous. Check out her FB and/or Instagram!! I definitely recommend her!
I know people on here have been very happy with Steven Kirsch as well!!
Brilliantly Engaged set my Tranny and did an awesome job. They've done some beautiful pave' work. I would call Chris, very easy to work with... I highly recommend him.
Most jewelers that I know will set outside stones with a few qualifiers.
Not all stones work in all designs and any jeweler with sense will reserve the right to decline ANY job until they've had the chance to inspect all of the components. The other big issue is the liability insurance for potential damage to the stone may or may not be included in the deal. With some that insurance is included, some offerit at an extra charge, some customers will buy it separately, and some customers will just self insure through the process.
