One more thing off the checklist.
We just got back from the jeweler to pick up my custom wedding band. Since FI designed my engagement ring through Whiteflash, we were in a sticky situation. The way the ring is designed, with it being tapered at the top and a kite setting, we had no choice but to find a jeweler who could do a custom band to fit flush.
Enter my right-hand ring. Given to me about 6 years ago by my mother, it holds a lot of sentimental value. My grandmother, who died while I was in high school, left my mom all of her jewelry. One ring that she wore every day consisted of one enormous center diamond, and 18 (!!) baby diamonds. I have two sisters, so my mom made each of us a right-hand ring with 6 baby stones, and Mom kept the larger stone. I thought it would be wonderful to make this special RHR even more special by making it into my wedding band.
The jeweler did a wonderful job. They first did a wax molding so I could see the general idea, and then they had the final product two days later. I couldn''t believe the price tag - only $275!!! Since I sold him the gold of my original RHR, and provided the diamonds, I guess he really only charged for time and design. Best of all, the "set" looks perfect. Fits perfect. Already can''t wait to wear it
