So I purchased the ACA princess from WF a little while ago.
I went to my jeweler to come up with an idea for a ring. This is what they came up with:

Now I like the design, the problem is the total width is 6mm. My girlfriend only has a size 5 finger, so it seems that it will be way too bulky.

I went back to WF for some idea and they gave me three pre made ring designs:

I like Legato or the Harmony, but I do need it with a square shank. That is not negotiable unfortuantely. They can do it, with little to no change in price.

What one would look better do you think? Since my design too bulky. :wall:

I like the Legato best out of all your options but I would also ask if they would put chevron prongs instead of the usual prong to protect the corners of the princess cut stone for added protection.

Yes they will do v-tip pront.
So its legato or harmony, based on what they can do with the square shank. Still wanting for an answer in that regard.

The reason I chose the Legato over the rest is due to the integrated basket; I dislike the look of the stone just "plonked" onto the band, even though it really isn't.

Understand. I am just waiting for WF to call me back and let me know about converting to square now. Its either those two, but a lot depends on the shank.

This is what WF said (now more confused then ever)

Sorry, I was out to lunch.
They can modify the Harmony for the euro shank, it will be .30ctw vs. .42ctw and be priced at $1,745 in 18k White Gold. The 14k option is only $30 less. http://www.whiteflash.com/engagement-rings/diamond-settings/harmony-diamond-engagement-ring-878.htm

If you prefer the Legato Sleek Line Pave with a euro shank, it will be priced at $1,545 in 18k and may be slightly under .20ctw.

Either one will take 3.5weeks to make, and be semi-custom & non-returnable.

Legato...

I like your design. Where is it 6mm? Not through the shank, right?

Can you please clarify which part of the quote is confusing to you?

Now I went back to my local jeweler and they did some refining. Here are some wax pix!

Here is the revision:

Each diamond is around 1.2mm x 24
The width of EACH band is 1.75mm at the largest, could be closer to 1.5mm after polish
The largest distance between each band will only be 5mm , vs 6. So its tighter now while still showcasing the diamond. the diamond is around 6.6mm so this should still be good.

Its either this or legato, but this wax looks much better.

What does Pricescope think?

Since the jeweler made the revision, I am going with this custom setting here.

I ended up going with whiteflash legato. The reason? I ended up speaking to my girlfriend quite a bit and she didn't want the ring to distract from the center stone. That ring I designed was something I would like but alas Im not the one being proposed to.

I applaud your foresight to ask your GF as to her preference. :appl:
