Custom palladium ring - how much should I expect to pay? (example inside)

Hi Pricescope!

After months of research and help from many of you on here, I''ve decided on getting a custom ring designed by Quest. My appointment isn''t for a few weeks, but I was wondering if any of you could provide insight on what I should expect in pricing for the setting. The setting I envision will look almost exactly like this, but palladium instead of white gold: 3 stone ring

What do you think is a reasonable price for this setting in palladium with similar sidestones included?

Sadly, I think I''m just as excited to help design the ring than my girlfriend will be in receiving it!

I got a local quote for a pair of studs in palladium, and was told that pricing would be similar to 18k WG. I don''t know if that''s market value and true across the board or just in the case of this particular jeweller though

One thing to note is that it can be harder to find a local jeweller willing to do everyday little things like prong work / resizing on a palladium ring.

Thats what I heard also, that palladium was priced similar to WG (dont know if it was 14k or 18k).

My jeweler told me it is hard to price palladium, since it is a new metal and more difficult to work with than gold. I suppose that is why the price quotes I got varied so much?

1700 for .5kt side stones palladium ring from Union
1300 (plus tax) for .5kt side stones for palladium ring with diamonds direct in MN.
