Hello everyone! :wavey: I am posting today because I am hoping to dig up some 5 stone ring/band ideas. I have looked through the 5 stone SMTB threads as well as searched around on line elsewhere, but I have yet to find something that screams "this is it!!". I want something a little bit unusual (not a traditional basket, or a modern u prong) and my style is antique-y (I plan to use OEC's).

Right now, I am eyeing a set of 3 OEC's that are 0.40 each and I really like them - but I will need to then gather two more to match. I am also open to mixing the stone shapes. Perhaps 3 OEC's and a pear on either end? Either way, I am not completely sold on one particular design and I would be very interested in what you all can help me find!

Here are some examples that I have found on my own:

(same with this one) https://www.pinterest.com/pin/557531628843750887/
(also like this floral-type basket, but modified to a 5 stone) https://www.pinterest.com/pin/456693218438334324/

I apologize if this is all a little vague as I am at the very start of my search - any ideas you can provide are much appreciated!

Thank you =)

I don't have any photos to share but I love the profile on the pinterest one -- it has the floral feel without being too ornate. With old cuts it will have a strong antique flavor. I also love the idea of 3 rounds and 2 pears, esp of ALL of them were old cuts. No idea whether smallish old cut pears are readily available -- someone on CS showed off a beautiful old pear but finding two smaller ones to match might be tough.

I agree - it would be amazing to find two old pears to match - but like you said, I am not sure how great my chances are of finding them :? I also think the floral ring has a great antique feel without being too busy - I just wonder how I would bring pears into the design if I chose to... Perhaps the pear baskets would be a slightly different style, something scroll-like that could be tucked underneath? I would like to minimize the appearance of the metal from the top view, but have those nice details viewable from the profile/side. Thank you for the input!

hmmm...from everything I've read about DK (looks like that is his pinned image?) sounds like he'd be able to find a way to adjust that look for pears. I was picturing the pears as the outer-most stones (not sure if thats what you intended) so in my mind the profile would be the same, but the profile pieces would be angled toward each other to meet at one prong on the pointy end of the pear. If you are into it you could even pinch the band there, which is also a neat antiquey type of style, and would keep the face up metal profile more minimal. hopefully that all makes sense without a drawing :))
