Hi all,

I''ve been checking out this forum for quite awhile, actually been an invaluable tool in creating my future fiancee''s engagement ring, but I''ve never posted before now.

Anyways, I just wanted to post some photos of the ring I designed with the help of everyone here.

Stone is a 0.91ct pear purchased from White Flash. The ring is custom designed to my specs with a full sideways bezel setting in Platinum.

Wow - that is a very unique setting! Very modern yet classic.

My original wedding ring has a small blue pear sapphire set E-W (prongs, not bezel) and so I am really drawn to your ring. I don't see pears set that way very often at all.

Thanks! Yes the sideways setting was definitely a challenge, took quite a bit of work to get it to look right. Got in quite a few arguments with my "designer" about it... but my girlfriend had only one request, a pear diamond in a sideways setting. And I wasn''t going to budge no matter how much my "designer" tried to convince me that it was a "bad" design...

I can''t wait to pop the question, she still has no idea

Hi everyone, thanks again.

To answer a couple questions, yes it will be a complete surprise, as far as I know she has no idea. I got quite a bit of help from my FF''s sister as far as what she would like. Her sister is a member of this forum and they''ve had extensive talks about what she would want when the day came...

Her sister and I probably looked at hundreds of ring designs trying to find examples of a pear in a sideways setting. Let''s just say it was very hard to find anything. And after a few failed attempts by my jewelry designer I ended up just mocking up the design in adobe illustrator. I''ll attach the spec.

Overall it was a really fun processes, and I know she''ll love it.

I''ll post additional photos when she receives it.
