I think I have found my center stone from WF. My next step is the setting. I am getting a custom 3 stone ring. Radiant (cut cornered rectangular mod. brilliant) center 1.80ct
measures 8.51 x 6.49

I want trapezoids for the side stones.

WF suggest .3ct ea for side stones. I think it may be too small. Do you think it has something to do with the cut corners and the prongs fitting?

This ring will be my 25th anniversary present.

I will probally wear it as my wedding ring, no band. Size 7 1/2 ring finger, slightly long fingers.

Do you think the suggested side stones are ok, or should I ask for larger ones?

A fellow PS poster "aimdog" has a lovely 3 stone radiant, center stone 2.04ct. 8 x 6.50 (similar to the size of my stone)
her side stones are .51ct ea I think it is beautifu!!!
I am attaching a pic of aimdogs ring, I love the look of the 3 stones.
I am also attaching my diamond from WF. Maybe the angle of the corners are cut more and the side stones need to be smaller to look right. What do ya''ll think?

I can''t say what size of stones to get (it''s a personal preference for you) but I LOVE your diamond. It''s gorgeous.

If you like aimdog''s, send the pic to WF. They can measure everything relative to the size of your stone to duplicate the look. Personally I would want slightly smaller sides so the center stone is the focus.

HI:

I have a 5.01 rectangular radiant and my side stones are .56 each. I think it looks "perfect".

cheers--Sharon

I have seen your ring canuk-gal, and it is so beautiful!!!

My stone is 1.80 and the length is 8.51mm. I was thinking slightly smaller than .5ct, depending on how much room there is between the prongs and allowing for the cut corners.
I was told by WF to divid the stone length by 1/2. And that would give the right size to use on the side stones. Not sure if I fully understand what that means.

happy, I think if you love ami''s ring then you should show WF that photo so they can match the proportion of your sides to your center stone. The ratio of sides to center can make a huge difference in the overall look of a 3 stone ring and if you love that ring, then use that as your guide to the proportions/ratio of your sides to your center stone. I personally find that if it''s an all-diamond 3 stone, if the sides are too small they look like an after thought, but if they''re too big, they overwhelm the center stone. Which is okay if the center is a ''meh'' stone, but yours looks fantastic and should be the star! It''s a gorgeous ring and your new center is equally amazing. I look forward to finished hand shots!

in three stone rings I usually prefer the center stone to "pop" a little more and get slightly smaller sidestones. However, this is mostly style preferences as there are no rules. I think .35-.4 each would be lovely.

can you ask them to take a photo of your center with the .3 and then a larger pair to help you decide? that would probably help a ton!

Thanks for all of your comments. Lots of great questions to ask WF Monday.

Here is another beautiful 3 stone radiant. It''s PSer "audrey hepburn". It''s a 2.03ct center, length is 7.47 and side traps are .25 ea. For my ring, I think I may want to go a little bigger on the side stones. What do you think of these proportions!
Get your sunglasses out, it''s a sparkler!!!

I prefer the sidestones smaller as well... but go with what you prefer. Both aimdog and audrey hepburn's rings are beautiful.

I agree with asscherhalo lover, have WF take a pic of your center size with varied sidestone sizes.
