Cushion vs Round sparkliness

How do cushion cuts compare to round cuts in terms of sparkliness? Is it possible to find a cushion cut that reflects back as much light as a round h&a diamond?

Which is better value for finger coverage in the 3+ carat range?

It's going to be hard to beat an ideal cut round brillant as far as light return and brilliance goes. However, there are ideal cut antique cushions which Good Old Gold originated. However, cushions are generally deeper than rounds, so you'd get more spread (diameter) from a round over an equal weight cushion. Plus the supply of rounds is vastly greater. On the other hand, an ideal cut antique cushion is extremely rare, gorgeous, and special.

What is your budget? Ideal cut rounds will cost a little less because they are more plentiful.
