So i was talking with my diamond guy I'm trying to get the largest looking cushion so big table but i still want fire and sparkle my GF likes sparkle. She really likes how rounds sparkle but likes the square look so cushion it is. Well we have gone through about 20 stones he has a great selection and i have found some i like but i just want to see more i am looking for the most bang for my budget 5k for the stone 2k for setting is what i am shooting for as my max. Anyway He has told me that a table to depth ratio of .9 - 1.10. tends to help with the flash of cushion cuts is he some kind of genius or is this tribal knowledge because everything i have read you must see the stone thats why i have looked at so many. Any thoughts is this just away to thin the heard or is he just getting tired of bringging in more and more stones?

In general, the bigger the table, the glassier it looks. There is no magic number cut-off that says at X%, it will look glassy. Ratio has nothing to do with flash and sparkle either. I am sorry to say there is absolutely no magic number, tricks or secret whatever to shop for cushions without seeing it in person. There are simple general guidelines but those are only the starting point. Many ugly cushions still fall within the same general guidelines which is why the stone must be seen in person (picture, video or in person).
