Hi,

I got a photo of the diamond yesterday, it is attached. Firstly thank you to the people who helped me out in the last post it was really useful!

Also you guys will have seen a hell of a lot more diamonds than me, so even though i am absolutely in love...what do you think?

meep, sorry I have a question also...
I have seen pave rings in both rb and i''ve seen channel rings in rb and princess. I''ve also seen tiny baguette cut diamonds...has anyone seen a band containing tiny cushion cut diamonds (i''m talking ~ 0.03 carat)?

Thanks

Looks good, but I am no expert. :P

I don't think I have every seen cushion cut melee diamonds. I don't think it is worth the effort for the cutter as the optics should not be noticeable at such size compared to rb cuts.

That makes sense, i''m guessing in many ways it''s more difficult to cut smaller diamonds. I was more thinking of the shape than the opitcs so have you ever seen small melee diamonds in a rounded square/oblong shape?

Thanks :) i like it...

It looks like a pretty cushion from what I can see but the photo isn''t that clear. Round melee are normally whats on offer, you do occasionally see other shapes, best to ask your vendor what is possible.

Here''s a thread on melee. And there''s a pic not too far down on the first page of OMC melee. I know I''ve heard of regular cushion melee on here too, might be in here, I didn''t go all the way through it.

And I fiddled with your pic trying to make it a little easier to read. It''s still hard to tell, as the pic just doesn''t really capture/show the cut well. It looks like it could be pretty, but we can''t really say more.

Looks like a 4 main cushion brilliant with chunky facets. Pictures only tell you conclusively about facets and type not about optical performance. Get an ASET and Idealscope and we can tell you more.

Thanks Ellen for bringing the pic into better focus. It has the makings of a pretty cushion where facet patterns are concern. But I''d ditto CCL here. ASET photos will help clarify issues over optics. A video wd help a lot too. Or better still, if the return policy is good why don''t you bring it in for an up close and personal inspection?

Welcome DF!

Think it is already bought and in her hands and she has seen it personally.

If that''s the case, whip out that camera and lets see some IRL shots!

I didn''t get that from this?

Recently my boyfriend bought the following diamond for my engagement ring, he had bought another stone but the jeweler rejected it on his behalf as it wasn''t as nice looking as she had hoped. We are in the UK but we are having the ring made in America so obviously we won''t see the stone until the final piece is mailed out to us (although i think my boyfriend will ask for photos...i''m not allowed to see them!). I was just wondering if anyone has any experience of diamonds of this cut and has any example pictures of a stone with similar dimensions...was it worth the money, I am more bothered about it looking pretty, clean and white than the size of the stone...I initially wanted a 0.5 carat but the jeweler recommended slightly larger due to the relatively small price difference/the type of setting is designed for 0.70-1 caratish...

Hi thanks for all of the feedback, this is a really helpful forum! I don''t actually have the diamond yet, it''s still in america, luckily there is a full refund service if i don''t like the ring. I will be sure to post more photos and maybe a video when i actually get the ring :) I''m not sure about getting the idealscope etc done since i''m expecting the ring to be delivered in less than a week, customs time not included

, so hopefully it''s all packed up and ready to go!

Good Luck. :)

Don''t worry about the reflector images, if you like the look of the stone that is what really counts. We would be happy to see a video or pictures of the ring in the SMTR thread and will look out for them.

I agree with CCL, what matters is that when you look at it, you love it. I hear you on the stress of a transatlantic cushion search, not an easy thing to do! For what its worth, I think that your stone is absolutely stunning.
