Calling all cushion experts. What do you think of these stats?

G, VS1
1.37 cts
6.82x5.92x3.77
girdle: thick 5.5% faceted
table width 62%
crown height 13%
pav depth 45%

There are soo many different cushions out there, its difficult to compare.
All suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I think it''s shallow with a big table so if I were to guess I''d say it would tend to look larger, and possibly be brilliant, but not super firey. Other than that, and those are *guesses*, I don''t think it''s possible to know without looking. It''s *very* shallow though, but that means you have a large girth for the money assuming it was a bargain price.

Thanks so much for the reply.

I thought the same thing about the table. It didn''t have a classic cushion look. As for the depth, you think it was shallow? That could be. The jeweler said it looks like a 1.2 ct (cert says 1.37). So, it really looks smaller than it should? Where is the weight?? In the girlde?
Sorry if these are dumb questions, I am new to this and I am just starting to look.

I have another question for all you PSers. During my last trip to NYC, I was "just looking" at Bergdorf Goodman''s and I saw a beautiful ring. I don''t know the name of the designer but it was hand made in platinum. Would you all stay away from buying in a dept store? The price I could get is comparable to what I see online (maybe a little more). I have seen stories on the jewelry mark-ups at dept stores and the quality is sub par (for the price they are charging). I guess what I am saying, is Bergdorf a safe bet?

I don''t know bergdorfs except that maybe somewhere in my head I''m thinking "overpriced" lol

Shallow would make the stone look BIGGER but not necessarily better. I am not an expert number cruncher to figure out what your depth should mean in terms of spread and the weight couldn''t be all in your girdle either because the overall depth is shallow.

Are you looking for a cushion? I''d get one online... the quality in stores really is difficult to match what you''ll find online.

I was told by almost everyone that there was no such thing as a smart, new, omc and you know? I found one :)

We can help you here, but I''d recommend figuring out which facet plot you prefer and IMO the best place to do that is at the james allen website... if you do a very BROAD search (pretend you''re not looking for "the one") and just look at stones that have both GIA certs and photos, you can compare the different facet plots on cushions with the different images of what those cuts will produce. I found my OMC listed under cushion on BN and it doesn''t even say the word cushion anywhere on my gia cert lol Cushions are a whackado section of the diamond industry, but really the first step is to figure out which facet plot you like then you can go around to the vendors and say, "that one". Also knowing if you like the external "cushion" qualities" but want an inside that performs like a round or has chunky broad flash is good to know... different cuts perform differently.
