So I think I finally decided that I want the tiffany soleste inspired e-ring from James Allen. It is also nice that they are doing 25% off on that setting.

Gypsy, would you be able to help me find a 0.8 carat square shaped cushion cut diamond. I am looking for F color or above, and VS1 to VS2 clarity. I am looking for a faceting pattern similar to the one that Marymm purchased in one of the treads you replied to earlier.

Thank you in advance for your help.

That is a gorgeous one, but your requirements are very strict for color and clarity. I'm not sure I can find something like that one in the spec range you want. Cushions aren't like rounds with oodles of selection available where you can say: I want this color and this clarity. You need a broad range to allow for more selection. Or lots of time to find what you want.

Budget? I'm hoping you have about 3.5K to spend on this.

Here are the only 2worth looking at in your spec range and at 3.5k and under but exact to Marymm's faceting:

If you have 4k to spend though:
This is a very nice stone: http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/1.00-carat-g-color-si1-clarity-sku-366958 and I do think this one is worth getting an ASET and stretching the budget to make it work, if you can.

Wow thanks Gypsy for the quick turn around. My budget for the stone is $5500 dollars. If you feel like there are better quality ones I can please let me know and I will send those to get aset. For sure I will send the G one.

Ok. That's a great budget. I'll look again later for. Put the G on hold for now though. :wink2:

Hi Gypsy,

I wanted to show you the ASET of one of the diamonds that came back. Unfortunately, I won't disclose to you which one it is on this forum, since I can only hold it for 24 hours, and will need time to gather the funds to purchase it. I think I will pull the trigger on this one. Please let me know what you think.

The gemologist said the following about the diamonds:

It is a very white and bright diamond. It has great overall light performance and brilliance. There is a lot of light return and excellent balance/ contrast of light in the diamond.

It's a fantastic stone. Just great.

I hope you are able to get it in time.

And after you buy it, please come back and tell us which it is ( I think i know which one though), and if you are happy with it.

Hi Gypsy,

I finally received the ring from James Allen. So the diamond I ended up choosing was this one.

I found this diamond in one of your other threads. Here are the pictures of the ring. Its not exactly as delicate as the tiffany soleste, but its close enough for me. Especially considering the money I saved from buying from JA. I only have one question. Do you think the prongs are a little off. The top right and top left prong does not align horizontally? Or maybe its just me. Let me know your comments. I appreciate all the help you gave me.

I'm happy you are happy.

About the prongs. I can't see them from your pics. I mean, I an vaguely make out that there are prongs, but... not anything specific about them honey.

Can you get a close up image?

What do you think of the diamond itself?

Hi Gypsy,

To be honest I think the center stone looks a little dark compared to the halo setting. Is this common for halos? I know the side stones are F/G color stones. My center stone is an E.
I also don't have much experience looking at cushion cut stones, since I was only shopping for round brilliant stones in the beginning. I think I prefer the round brilliant stones over the cushion, and I am contemplating of switching out the cushion for a round diamond of a similar size in terms of measurements. Do you think that is a good idea?

Yes, if you aren't thrilled I think it's a great idea. And if you don't love the double halo setting, there are a lot of gorgeous halo settings out there.

I highly recommend Brilliantly Engaged for a halo. HIGHLY. And also for the stone honestly.

They area great vendor.
