could anyone please point me in the direction of some examples of cushion halos with square stones?? (preferably asscher or square emerald). thanks in advance!

I can't think of any off the top of my head. Most folks with square stones want a halo to follow the lines of the stone. If you put them in a cushion halo you loose the square shape that makes the stone special. I'm sure it can be done, but not sure it will be aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

My new halo is more octagonal and I much prefer it. Layla%20Steven%20Reset_1.jpg

Gypsy, those links still look a little more square than cushiony to me, but could be exactly what the OP is wanting. Are you using the rounded corners as a guideline? just curious...Glad you thought of them :))

Thank you for the replies! Great job with both your settings Gypsy!

Yes, I do want more rounded corners, and even less squarish...I have seen this and it really adds a lot of sparkle to the step cut stones. I've only seen in microwave, and I want bigger stones. Am concerned it wouldn't sparkle and be more metally looking .

If you have more suggestions, would love to see!

Meant micropave, not microwave lol!

Thanks for the links! Getting closer...
the last link, I am looking more to see a smooth shape around the halo, not curved following the stones, if that makes sense. i don't want to see a lot of metal either, which is why i am drawn to micropave, but the micropave doesn't sparkle enough with such small stones.
i know, i am picky, but really want to find that perfect setting!

you many end up just having to go custom. I would suggest someone like Brian Gavin who can do a cad/cam for you to approve to make sure you like the lines of the halo. That way you can use larger melee in the halo since that is your preference. You can email Brian (or another custom vendor that you choose) several pictures of what is close and let him do the tweaks to get it just right for you. You might also try Steven who redid Gypsy's halo, but I don't think he uses can/cam so you'd have to go more off possible sketches and blind faith is his abilities as a designer.

I agree with MrsSalvo's vendor recommendations. You need to go on micropave.com and read all about pave styles. See if "brightcut" is what you want. That will help both you and the vendor.
