Personally I like the smaller (ha!). The first one has such a wonky shape and seems like it might not be eye clean. Even if it was eye clean, I feel like the shape would drive me crazy.

Have grace make a side by side video for you.

Here is what Gace said. I am leaning towards the smaller one due to her feedback.

The 4.20 is another great buy however, it does have an inclusion right across the table. While it may not bother others (the inclusion is white and opaque, not black).

Hi all,

Alright, its go time... Adam sent me a pretty amazing diamond but I really need some feedback / warm fuzzy comfort about this thing.

Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mFv0YKok5w&feature=youtu.be

Here are my concerns:

1) It's not graded
2) I have not seen it in person. Should I fly out and see it? This scares me...
3) Will it be too big in the victor Canera Anne Marie Halo? My GF is 5'9 so not a tiny person. I still have to get her fingers sized but overall
would you say its a bit much?

Thoughts?

HELPPPPPPP! PLEASEEEE!!

Love the Adam stone.

Have Adam send it for grading to GIA and have price dependent on color and clarity coming back within one grade of what he is estimating. You would pay for that. Should be about 500-600 bucks if you request a rush.

I think it's fine in terms of size for a halo. But it's tinted and might be too tinted for a halo.

Does she have to have a halo? Cause a smaller I color stones is going to be my recommendation for a halo.
But if it doesn't have to have a halo, I've got a gorgeous setting option in mind for you.

Thanks Gypsy!

I really love the stone too but am still really nervous. Especially with matching the halo with the diamond just like you mentioned. I have to say, I am really set on the Victor Canera Anne Marie Halo. So if the stone is going to look underwhelmed and yellow in the Halo I’m not sure it’s right for me. With that being said, ive seen M’s in a halo and they look amazing too.

Without it being certified what do you think is a fair price? You’ve seen it and have the same info I do! Any ideas on what color it might be?

Kyle

You can't grade color from a monitor. Only a trained person comparing the stone to a labratory master set can. Adam should be able to give you a ball park though.

That said, I would be surprised if he said it was in the I range.

He just came back and thought it compared to GIA L color and VS clarity. I have to say, I am fairly happy with that!

OK. But I would have him send it to the GIA first.

The below is how the contrast it going to look. This is a GIA L in a halo. With F/G full cut melee. As you can see from the pics, depending on lighting it will be a sharp contrast at times, and at other times it won't as sharp a contrast.

I personally would ask victor if you can cut down on the contrast with SINGLE CUT halo melee in the I-J range. Full cuts of lower color won't do as much good.

Wow, the OWD stone looks fantastic.

I am not an expert by any means...

but i like what my eyes see.... I LOVE the OWD Antique cushion... the facetting is super clear and that gets to me. The colour is in the range for me... i like to see tint in these older stones- it sings romaticism- mary antionette kinda era...... But... it is not for me.. it is for your GF.
the LAD antique cushion looks good in the setting as well. But i like the bigger one from OWD.

you are in good hands with posters like Gypsy helping out. she has a great eye for diamonds and settings.
Be as open and honest as you can and you will get the results.....

happy hunting.

I love the faceting on Adam's stone. The color (at least on my phone) looks to lower than L to me though. Surprisingly I wasn't all that thrilled with his estimations on his stones especially considering most aren't graded. So I would definitely consider that stone if the grading comes back better than his estimation.
