Cushion Diamond Advice

Hi all!

Long-time lurker here getting ready to purchase a cushion diamond engagement ring. The diamond will be set in a french cut pave band in platinum. I would love to hear any input on the following diamond that I currently have on hold:

Any thoughts on the quality of this diamond? If you do not think this is a quality diamond, could you steer me in the direction of a high quality cushion diamond? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Budget: $12-14k
Cut: More of a square cushion
Carat: above 1.6
Color: H or better
Clarity: SI1 or better

Hmm. I don't think it's going to ASET out red. Probably green, which means it will look smaller than a better performing stone of equal or even slightly smaller dimensions.

Can JA can an ASET for it?

I didn't see anything eyeclean that is worth buying under 12,500 and above 1.7 carats at JA.

Hi Gypsy,

Thank you so much for the response. All three of those diamonds are stunning. I'm definitely considering one of the three, however, I wanted to ask if you saw any cushion diamonds that you would buy/recommend from James Allen for under $15k? I'm set on the French Cut Pave setting at James Allen, so I think it would be ideal to purchase the diamond through JA (maybe this is a silly mindset, I don't know).
