hello all,

i''ve been in the market for a loose cushion cut diamond and wanted to get some thoughts on two stones ive found online. i dont have pic''s just yet, i just received the spec''s yesterday so i havent had a chance to look at them. as of right now im just going by the GIA cert''s..out of these 2, according to the cert''s they are pretty much the same give or take alittle bit on carat, color, and clarity..and i know without pic''s its hard to tell anything, but to me the 2nd one is more appealing..so i was wanting to get some feedback to see if anyone agrees..hopefully i will be able to get some pic''s soon..so if you have time to look through the spec''s and give me your thoughts on them..thanks

You are right you need pics...

Are you stuck on that size?? I just visited with Mark at ERD yesterday and my FF purchased a 1.27 carat H, Si1 ring for me...
I think you can drop color and clarity and still get a nice WHITE clean stone...

Pic''s, pic''s. pic''s...

these two cushions can be very similar in #''s but completely different in appearances!!!
Post the images when you have a chance...

mark is the man! thats who ive been speaking with the last wk or so..he''s been a tremendous help..and i could be totally off for thinking this way, but i was trying to get the most quality from a stone for my own piece of mind sake.. also, i would like to stay around this size for now...meaning, once it comes to either 5-10-20 years down the road, i will be able to upgrade to bigger and better things..

Yes Mark is seriously the man! He brought in 3 stones EXACTLY within budget and ExACTLY what my FF asked for.. and they were all different!

Are you going to get to go to NYC and sit with Mark?? I think being there in person a stone can totally speak to you!!! I know the one I picked was calling my name... "jfus... jfus"...come here.." haha.. ok I''m on sparkle crack now..

Ok so you want the best of all worlds..

Well how about looking for a G VS2??? That way you get a happy mix of both stones.. and maybe if the budget allows or Mark''s pick allows you get a few extra points on the weight??... I saw an F, G, and H yesterday and really couldn''t tell the difference between the three stones. It was sooo minimal...and I am a person who I would like to think is very color sensitive given my profession I work with colors and tints on a daily basis..

I personally feel like with a VS1 diamond... you are paying for what you can''t see.. a VS2 would be perfectly fine, and maybe you can pocket that extra money for the upgrade later on!
