Honest thought--it's huge! (the picture that is)

EDT: Thanks for the resize.

Lexie,

Thank you soo much for re-sizing the pic! I didn''t know it was going to post so big :) Thanks for your comments as well.

I''m no expert... But it looks lovely!

Thanks Tuckins! I forgot to add in my first post that the carat weight is 1.56 ct

Nice facet pattern. I like it. Have you seen it in person? Do you like it on your hand?

Yes, it was actually purchased at BN. The specs looked good and the price was decent (thanks to Fatwallet

) However, there was reluctance on buying it at first due to the fact that the PS community has always reinforced the notion that you shouldn''t buy cushions based upon specs. However, with BN''s refund policy, I took a chance. My only concern was how it would look based upon color and cut. Despite being an H color diamond, it seems as though it looks white facing up and it does sparkle a lot. I had an independent appraiser examine it and he was impressed with the cut. Most importantly, it looks lovely on my gf''s hands. The PS comments so far are reaffirming that it''s a keeper!

We''re currently looking for dainty, non-gaudy halo settings, something along the lines of the Tacori 2620. If you have any recommendations please send it our way!

Very pretty cushion.

I''m no cushion expert but that looks like a lovely stone!

True what you said; specs help evaluate rounds better than they do cushions. You need to see cushions. But that's a rather well taken shot; the cushion looks good, I too love the proportion and facet pattern, and I wouldn't worry about the color and clarity either. If the price is good, this looks like a keeper. In any case, BN has a 30 day return policy if for some reason you decide not to keep it. Congrats!

Looks like a nice one! I especially love the rounded square shape! Nice facet pattern, too!

I agree!

I love the facet pattern; looks very well cut to me! Glad to see that your BN gamble turned out well.

It looks very pretty to me.

Thanks for the compliments. It was difficult taking the shot, but I was lucky to get a somewhat clear one. It probably would look better if I had released the stone from the tension clasps. I live everyone''s comments and how the some of them said "I''m no cushion expert" lol. I wonder what one of those would say lol. Anyways, I think it is a keeper. I can''t wait to post more pics of it to show you all once it is in a setting.

Does anyone have any suggestions of dainty, antique halo ring designs for this lonely cushion cut diamond?

I look forward to the responses :)

I don''t have one in particular, but I would recommend looking through this place for starters.

Ellen,

Thanks for the suggestion. Has anyone had any custom ring experiences or heard about the quality of custom rings made by Icing on the Ring? They are based in LA and in the same building as Single Stone.

Thanks for the post Ellen. That''s a really nice ring.

Does anyone have any experiences designing an engagement ring with either Maytal or Icing on the Ring? We spent some time with each of these designers and we''re trying to figure out who to go with. We are looking to have a antique halo engagement ring custom-designed for the cushion cut diamond (see above

It looks really nice! Great job, considering you were only choosing based on numbers.
