I am new to diamond shopping and need some advice please please please... I''m looking at a really pretty cushion-cut diamond, listing for approx $6100. The description is as follows:

Cut: Cushion brilliant
Measurements: 6.44 x 6.05 x 4.00
Weight, Color, Clarity: 1.13 ct, F, VS2
Girdle Thickness: Slightly thick – extremely thick (faceted)
Polish: Good
Symmetry: Fair
Fluorescence: None
Culet: Medium
Table: 60 %
Total Depth: 66.1%
I''m concerned about the symmetry only being "Fair," otherwise it seems really nice. Any thoughts? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

We can see the symmetry effects in ASET images.

Have you seen a lot of other cushions to compare it to? If not, I suggest you do. A "pretty" stone can look like crud once you see some more for comparison...

If you HAVE seen many other cushions and this one speaks to you, go for it. Fancies need to be seen before they are purchased IMO. Unfortunately, the specs you've listed really tell us almost nothing about the stone...Images, ASET, or Idealscopes are really needed before we can help you tell anything about the stone over the 'net.

my cushion''s symmetry is only listed as good, but I love it. Neatfreak is right. Try to see it in person if at all possible! And, sometimes the numbers don''t add up to the appearance.
