I'm pretty confident that I've narrowed down my choice for the ER setting to the Brian Gavin Diamond Novela or the platinum setting by GOG (#1003). I am trying to come up with a ring that is as close as possible to the Tiffany Novo and after careful extensive searching, found that I like the Novela setting the best even though it is a little different from the Novo. Honestly, the Good Old Gold setting might be comparable or may be even a closer match to the Novo, but their photos don't really provide a good view and I haven't seen many PS postings showing rings with that setting.

I am looking for a squarish cushion cut diamond but also want to keep the cost down which may rule out the Square H&A (Quadex) so it does not have to look perfectly square.

Are you able to tell what type of cushion cut is displayed in the link below? It is described as 'Signature Cushion Brilliant', but is that like the Quadex or like a different type of Cushion cut?

From what I have seen, it appears that virtually any reasonable cushion I place in this setting would look great, but just wanted to get some feedback. Since I am trying to come up with something close to the Novo, I guess I am looking for an alternative to the Square H&A that would come out at a better price point, but still look good. Thanks.

That is a modern cushion cut pictured. If you look on BGD's website under cushion they have some selects available, if you don't mind me asking what is your budget?

Hi farmer gal,

My budget is between $6,000 and $9,000 for the stone (ideally). Not sure if that is sufficient for a nice modern cushion cut with a relatively square shape.

Looking for 1.5 ca / VS2 or SI1 / Color G H or I

Thanks farmer gal. I'll give them a call re: individual stones.

Do you think ERD's setting is a good inspired version of the Tiffany Novo? Sometimes, it is hard to see the quality and detail of the ring from the staged web photos. =)

To me it looks very similar, but you can ask them about it, they are very honest. They might be able to send you some pictures too:)
