Hi, I'm new here, looking for a cushion brilliant w/4 mains & hopefully a nice culet, want at least 6mm spread and a squarish ratio
(lol i've seen everything from 1.01-1.24ct w/a 6+ mm spread, so i'm learning carat size isn't necessarily what I am looking for, so focusing on mm)
I want a decent cut & excellent polish, and clarity of no less than vs1, & would like to avoid salty looking pin point & flaws, have an eagle eye unfortuneately.
I know symmetry can be a little off in Cushion Brilliants if they're not modern or recut cushions, but I don't want off center lines--espeicially with a culet, so suppose I'm being picky lol.
I'm so far OK with J for color from the cushions I've viewed in person.
So far I have ordered a couple & viewed them, to learn & experiment with diamonds in different lighting, but they weren't the cut pattern I was after, they were modified cushion brilliants--both were absolutley beautiful, but didn't "do it" for me like the older cuts.
Right now I'm concerned that because I like the look of a large culet, somewhat chunkier facets, & that this may affect the fire.
Anyone here care to comment?
Anyone have pics of their chunkier antique cushion w/ a culet & great fire?
I am in process of returning the last stone I purchased online & waiting on my money back.
I am now after another stone that kinda knocks my socks off as far as shape/pattern of cut that I spotted from James Allen, but am really wondering about things like what I've read here about idealscope etc.
I really am after a dimond that shoots colors, I've seen a few on others that when light hits them, little rainbows reflect out of them, but only saw this in RB shapes.
Anyone have a sq cushion that does this?
While I don't want a dark dud stone, I'm more about the fire than the whiteness (though i do not want a yellow stone)
Not sure if I am using the right terms, need assistance.
What's good light return on a cushion?
Can an idealscope be accurate for a cushion shape?
