I've done a decent amount of reading and all, but I am torn between two stones as far as which one I should get. Which one of these two stones is better and why? Would one of them sit higher in a halo setting than the other (I want the halo to be as close to flush with the table as possible)?

As long as the 1.25 ct F is eye clean, I can't see why I would pay more for the smaller, lower color stone. This leads me to believe I'm missing something.

Also, who makes the best affordable halo pave bands (similar to the Harry Winston micropave look)? I was pointed to ERD so far, but I know GOG gives me a discount if I get it from them plus I don't have to ship it off somewhere else (and pay for that).

Thank you in advance for your help!

The 1.20 has better light performance and is more rectangular in shape (depending on preference).
Contact the merchant to determine eye clean but they are usually quite good at sourcing their stones at GOG, microscopic pics don't show anything drastic so would assume eye clean based on clarity grade and photo.
If you are going to get their stone it makes sense to get the setting made from them as well IMO - may or may not be more expensive but saves a lot of mucking around.

The 1.2 is actually not smaller from the face-up view. They are both pretty stones and would be beautiful in a halo. Good Old Gold carries SO many brands of settings, that I am sure you can get one from them. I think the nicest among the more affordable brands is Gabriel and Co. if they will make a setting for a cushion. They have hundreds of halo settings. And I am sure GOG can suggest many others.

I dont think you will be disappointed wit GOG

well the smaller one is VS2 so that probably accounts for a lot of the price difference. as far as settings...I would ask GOG, they carry several halo settings and should be able to help you find one.
