Ok, after a long search for the perfect cushion, I think I have found the one. I hope I attached the pictures correctly.
Here are the specs:
GIA - Cushion Brilliant
1.53 carats
measurements - 6.91 x 6.52
H color
VS2 clarity (eye clean)
symmetry - excellent
polish - VG
table - 58%
depth - 68.9%
flourescence - none
girdle - very thin - thick (faceted)
$7,750

This is another one I looked at. It was nice and cheaper, but I think I am leaning towards the one above.

1.50
H - SI2 (pretty damn eye clean)
measurements - I forget - but pretty much perfect square
symmetry - VG
polish - Good
table 68% (too big?)
depth - 68%
flourescence - faint
girdle - medium - thick
$6,800

Is this a no brainer? I kind of think so. I''m pretty excited.

Also - does anyone have input on palladium vs platinum rings???

THANKS!

Cushions are difficult to buy by numbers alone. Any chance you can ask the vendor for some photographs of the stones? This would influence me more than the specs, but with numbers alone I prefer number 1. The table on number 2 is a little large for my personal taste. There are many threads on platinum and palladium if you want to do a search.

The pics didn't attach unfortunately...Have you seen either of these in person? The table on the second diamond might be ok if the cushion is what you are looking for, don't write it off by one number unless you want to do so, look at the whole diamond.

Which lab graded the second, GIA?

I guess I didn''t attach the pictures correctly. It shows up as an error every time.

The second one is GIA cushion brilliant as well. I have only seen the second one in person. It was very very pretty. I hav epictures of the first one only and it looks great on pictures. I just can''t figure out how to show the pictures.

Make sure your file is small enough (600 pixels should work) and name it something unique that hasn''t been used before like cushionasdf;lkj;lkj and this may do the trick.

Ok - hopefully this works. A picture should be attached.

It worked! It''s a very pretty cushion, a bit busy for my personal taste (I like chunkier facets), but for the style I think it is excellent.

What do you mean a bit busy? I thought technically a cushion brilliant did have chunkier facets (as opposed to a cushion modified)? I am not a fan of cushion modified.

Does this have a crushed ice appearance? I hope not!

It''s definitely less busy than a cushion modified and doesn''t look like a crushed ice style, I just happen to love the look of the old antique style "super chunky" facets. I think your stone is a great balance stone that has a wonderful mix of modern and chunky... if that makes any sense. It''s really all about preference and what you like!

I think it is stunning!

Would any of you be concerned about a "very thin - thick girdle"???? I am told I should not be concerned b/c only a very small area of the girdle is very thin. Thoughts?

If you were told this by a reputable jeweler, then I would be ok with it. But I don''t know where this is from. If it''s not from one of the online vendors, I would say have an independant appraiser look at it to be certain. Make sure there is a good return policy wherever you are getting it from.

And it''s very pretty!

It is from one of the reputable vendors. I am taking it to an appraiser as soon as I get it...and their is a 2 week return policy.

Good deal. Let us know how it turns out!
