Hi all,

I feel like I'm just educated enough to be dangerous :( I'd like some help interpreting the ASETs of these stones -

The ASETs look dark under the table to me in some places, but the same areas may or may not look bright in the photograph. Maybe it's something to do with the way the ASET photos are taken ? Or are OMB's just dark under the table? This one seems to have the opposte effect (ASET red looks dark in the normal picture)

I'm paranoid about getting a cushion with some dark cross or bowtie in the middle, but doubt ERD would select anything 'bad'. Unfortunately no local stores in Phoenix seem to have any idea what an OMB is to look at in person...

Thanks!

I prefer the second cushion you posted. I like the faceting better and the 1.05 L:W ratio is yummy.

The first one does seem to have the 3 to 9pm thing going on, which some people like and others don't.

They both seem like nice stones, though!

I like the second one better too. The first one looks like it might have more leakage in the center to me. If you are
really intereste in that one then I would ask for a more up-close video. You should call ERD and ask them to compare the
stones and ask them what they are seeing.

The overall ASET pic could be lighter or darker depending on how bright the light they're using is, whether the stones are backlit or not, camera settings, if the photo is enhanced afterward... that's not something to worry about. Those ASETs don't look improperly taken to me.

I don't much like any of them, but I have my personal biases... I'd order them 1, 3, 2, despite the symmetry of patterning in #2. I really dislike those areas of stone that look "mushy" - facets or portions of facets lacking clear, precise delineation - they won't actually *do* anything when you look at the stone IRL...
