Cushion advice - 1st time caller, long time listner

I prefer the curves of #1. It speaks to me. ETA: It seems more supported as well, I would personally worry about just knocking the head off of #2. Granted, I'm a klutz.

Glad you went with the more elongated stone, it's a very elegant (and not so vanilla) look. :appl:

Thanks for the feedback Twizz. I'm not sure about the bead setting. What do you mean by that? I had asked him for u-cut scooped pave. Is this something else?? Yes, it will look big and shiny!

Stu,

Do you see those little dots of metal between the stones? That's a bead setting. They are still doing the u-cut on the sides, but they have to put those small beads of metal in to hold those stones. This is standard on micropave (and what I'm doing on mine as well).

I'll see if I can get some CAD images, if he's even doing them. I sent my jeweler a solid 25 photos detailing what I wanted and don't want, and, in short, I'm doing something very close to the Victor Canera Emilya ring, with all the pave in one point single cuts.

Thanks Twizz, I see it now. I know that we can have the wedding band curved to fit around the donut, but I'm concerned how that will look if she wants to wear the band without the e-ring. I'm afraid she won't like the look of the notched band.

Am I blind? I don't see a donut in either CAD. Both look like a straight band should sit flush. I like the first one better.

Correct, neither ring has a donut. I was just debating whether or not they should. Thanks for the feedback, I'm starting to like Ring 1 better too!

Two bands?

The ring is finally here! Thank you all very for the advice and guidance. I couldn't be happier with the final product. I'm sure she is going to love it. Sorry for the bad photos, I had to sneak off to the bathroom to snap them...

MER-RY-CHRIST-MAS or ChristmaHanaKwanza that is gorgeous! She is going to love it!   :appl: :appl:
Nice job!
She will appreciate all of your hard work I'm sure ;))

Thanks so much for all of your help. I managed to stammer my through the proposal, but I don't think she heard much of what I was saying once she saw the ring. We are both very happy and thankful for this forum's support.

A quick question on sizing... The ring is a 4.75, which spins a bit on her finger. We went to the jeweler to have him size it, but the 4.5 would not fit over her knuckle. He recommended placing two "bumps" on the inside of the shank to hold the ring upright. Can anybody comment on this? Good idea, bad idea, other ideas? Thanks again!

I think he's referring to sizing beads inside the ring which will help with spinning. I think it's personal preference as to whether or not you like them or are comfortable with them. Here's a link to an article about them.

ETA: Congratulations on your engagement and on a gorgeous ring! 8)
