I was looking at a beautiful 1.70ct cushion D color, VS1 clarity at a great price but the only problem was that on the GIA cert it says ''Crown angles are greater than 40 degrees'' What exactly will that do on a cushoin? I understand how it affects a round but if the diamond looks great that is it a problem?

like this: the stone has high crown angle, so it is hiding weight. analogous to: she has DD boobs, so she is carrying some extra pounds.

if it looks great, it's ok.

On the contrary..., I prefer this comment on 8 fold Cushion Brilliants....
Especially on antique types...

Have an image?

Unfortunatly I do not have any images, but thank you for you opinion that you like the angle. I think the diamond has tons of sparkle

The Cushion cant wear a shirt or dress..., so the weight in the (steeper) crown angle (or as you describe DD's) are really not hiding
