What are you jonsing for?

I''ve got two current fixations. A diamond bracelet with the largest melee I can afford and the garland band by Blue Nile that Cakelady has. I flip flop between getting one of the the two daily. On the one hand I''ve been dying for a bracelet, on the other I can''t get what I *really* want with my current budget whereas I could turn my seven stone into a band like the garland band with no issue. Plus, my husband couldn''t get the band made for me without my knowing (unless he could pry my seven stone off my finger) ... but he could definitely get me a bracelet later on in the year (birthday and anniversary are in September) for a present with no issue. And he likes to get me jewelry.

What''s your current fixation?

A thin, bezel set pinkish pear diamond in rose gold, and then maybe mounting some rose cuts in a similar manner?

Well, I think my fixation has been fairly well published in PS for a while now. It's a 4.50-5ct H&A RB F-G, VS1-VS2 (preferably one by BGD), in a LM micropave setting. It's an ongoing project of mine, well...kind of!

What I mean is that this is something I'd *really* like, but given prices of larger stones have gone up so much during the last few months (despite the plateau last year) and given that we're in China now and am unlikely to be able to wear anything of that magnitude any time soon, not to mention that we'd like to pay off our mortgage as soon as possible and build up our retirement nest-egg, this project has kind of taken a temporary backseat.

This is still my ultimate goal but I've no idea when it's going to be realised!

I do have a current project which is going to be finalised soon (within the next two-three weeks); it involves my 3-stone ring and the upgrade of the centre stone. That's all I'm saying for the time being!

**mumble mumble** pink gold Cartier Inde Mysterieuse earrings &&##$$%%@@@DAMMMITTT

. And I still want that dern bezeled Tiffany Lucida solitaire necklace (or similar generic version) and a Jaeger Reverso Duo watch. That''s it. Thanks muchly.

My problem isn''t always wanting *new* stuff -- its not being able to afford the stuff I ALREADY WANT & not wanting the stuff I *can* afford.

At least I love the stuff I ALREADY HAVE. That''s something!!

Reader... that sounds amazing! How big a pink pear are we talking... and Dimend Scassi can get some nice rose cuts in. They have a band made up of all rose cuts that's just drool worthy.

Pheonix, man you are the ultimate PSer, you always have a great project going on. F/G VSI or mortgage. Tough call man, especially for a PSer. But you do have amazing bling to keep you warm for many years to come, so I guess the mortgage makes sense. Gotta have someplace safe to store the crack... I mean, diamonds.

Deco... Are you wanting real Cartier earrings, or would inspired-by's work? The Lucida bezel necklace would be lovely... but I have a feeling a weird feeling (I went to the denist yesterday and I'm on a painkiller right now, so 'weird feeling' is pretty much par for the course) you are going to get the Lucida eventually. Everytime I see one on sale second hand I think of you. I know nothing about watches though... link me? You are a responsible lady, you have a great house, and are always so sensible it seems. Could you start socking away 50 bucks a month? And then double that on special occassion months (anniversary, wedding and christmas?).

It is lovely to really love the stuff you have. I feel that way too. I sometimes think about getting a pear solitaire pendent (bezeled) but I'm just so happy with my BGD pendant I know I wouldn't wear it much, even though it's the first pendant I wanted. Good thing about being decisive once you have a piece and obsessed while you long for it, at least for me, is that you appreciate it that much more once it's yours. I really just love staring at my pieces. Which is why resetting the seven stone is sounding better to me, because I'm just so ambivelent about the band the way it is. I don't care for it much, except for the fact that it's shiny.

a nice 2.5ct G SI1 stone.

Like your lovely self, Gypsy, I''m totally obsessing over a diamond bracelet! I had a semi-bezel one in yellow gold I sold recently, I just never wore it, there was too much gold encasing the diamonds. I''d love a 3-prong style one, probably in white gold this time though, so the metal is less visible.

I''ve SERIOUSLY obsessed over a full diamond eternity ring for about a year... until last week when I FINALLY bought one!!

I have a .65 on its way right now..

Having only recently joined PS, I became fixated with the fact that although I love my current diamonds, they weren''t the type that regularly feature here. Whilst they are far removed from frozen spit, they are all a beautiful high colour and clarity (F in my eternity and G in my solitaire, all VS1 ) they miss the mark as far as cut is concerned. Not horrendous by any standards, just not the best and I always want the best I can get for my limited budget!! LOL.

So I have taken the bull by the horns and have consigned my solitaire. I won''t say anymore because I am sure it isn''t appropriate to do so here.

When/if ( can you tell I am nervous ) it sells I am off the GOG to make me whole new ring. I will drop down on colour and clarity but will go for H & A ideal cut. But here is the best bit! With a lifetime trade up policy. This is the bit i am ecstatic about. I can grow my diamond!! Wooohooo and no loss to me!!! Wooohoo

So now you all know why GOG website has been broken for so long and so often. Yip, its me obsessing about what ifs and whens!!!!

Sorry PS!!!

1. I am totally obsessed with GOG''s August Vintage Cushions in L and M colors

18.gif
18.gif
I''m always checking them out and thinking about them but it won''t happen for me any time soon

2. I''ve had a fixation on the Tiffany Notes band ring in 18ct yellow gold for a very long time now, so i decided to get it as a gift for myself after my PhD convocation.

A Leon Mege ring (someday...)

I'd like to have a few of my loose stones bezel set into a pendant, that will probably happen in the next 6 months.

A padparadscha ring (I have the stone, not sure what to do about setting it)

Brushed 18k white gold 5mm band set with scattered "etoile" style pink diamonds

But most of all, I'm jonesing for my engagement ring. I had it started in October, paid for it last month and it was supposed to be here on St. Patrick's day but alas it will take 2 more weeks to finish
7.gif
I'm going stir crazy.

I've also started lusting after a really nice OMC diamond... Oh and a WF eternity band.

My husband would probably kill me if he knew how many projects I was actually saving for!

baha I already replied in the other thread and it''s really hard not to repeat myself lol

I really really really want a GOG AV cushion... J color or lower. I would like to set in a Brian Gavin fishtail pave setting with a Truth head.... Maybe for my 10 year anni!

Hmm....

Well, I''ve started getting the hots for something opal. So I''m on an opal education binge at the moment. Those things are right up there with diamonds in cost. Yow! Lucky for me I don''t like the true black opals all that well, and prefer the lighter colors. I''m thinking of one because.........I have a local designer, Valerie Naifeh, working up some drawings for me for a pendant. The pendant will incorporate a shield-shaped rhodolite garnet by Peter Toracca, that I picked up some time ago. It is going to have a mechanism where you can have the pendant part be interchangeable. I''m thinking the right opal would be really lovely, although at the moment, a drop pearl seems to be in order.

I also have her doing some drawings for a couple of rings. The first is quite similar to this (4th row, 2nd from the left) - although mine would be a tad smaller - I think those stones are about 16mm, and my amethyst is 12mm, but still a big heavy statement ring. VERY pricey, with the waxes and all, so I may have to pass on that for now, sadly. But I also have a heavy 18k gold ring that I got on sale back in 2007 when a local jeweler was liquidating. It is not quite the right size (never had it modified) so the idea is to use it as a shank and build a head for a 3 carat round deep PINK(brown) zircon I got at an Intergem show from a cutter named Bill Vance. Her idea is to use the prongs as a means to add some white next to the zircon, and to have each prong with a tiny diamond on top. I''m game to see what she comes up with, even though I had envisioned a bezel.

It''s all very fun! :)

Pearl strands. Specifically Tahitian ones. I''ve fallen in love them.
30.gif
They''re putting a large dent in my "diamond fund" though.

Another Beverley K ring to stack with my BK baby ring. I am pretty sure I''m going to get this one after baby #2 is here.

I want a naturally-colored blue or green or blue-green diamond, emerald cut, Fancy Vivid or Deep, GIA VS or better.

I could only afford a tiny one.

A pair of earrings like yours from Pearlmans (hoping for a wedding gift) and a french cut eternity band like pancakes (hopefully for my wband or anniv band).

A platinum eternity band with emerald step cuts stones, NOT baguettes is something I have always wanted.

A set of bezel studs was next on my list but......

I am more fixated on BF giving me the e-ring (finally) so I can fixate on finding a wedding ring that works with it. I can wait for the studs.

To be honest I have calmed my jewelery buying impulses for the time being and have been buying clothes and shoes instead.

I''m dying for a u-prong 5 stone ring. I love the ringer coverage. I''m saving for it. I''ve got about 2/3 of the money that I think I need.

I would love:
diamond huggie earrings
pearl earrings and strand(s)
plain rose gold hoops
diamond drop earrings
a DBTY bracelet and possibly necklace
a bezeled diamond pendant (probably in rose gold)
a large eternity ring
and someday RHRs from either (or both!) Leon or James Meyer

I''m hankering for some slightly larger (still under 1ctw) round diamond studs. My current studs are princess-cuts, about .7ctw.

I''m obsessed with a lot of different things right now...

-Cabochon stack rings
-Diamond stack rings
-Emerald cuts
-Demantoid garnets
-East to West settings, I''ve been thinking about an E-W emerald, marquise, or oval diamond ring lately...
-OECs, OMCs, anything old, lol.
-Colored diamonds of all intensities

I''d really like to get some basic diamond pieces in the next year or two, I''ve been spending too much money on colored stones...

I really want a 5 stone ring with old mine cuts or GOG AVC''s where the centre stone is the biggest and the other 4 are side stones.

I also want a KristyDarling Leon Mege 3 stone ring with pear sidestones with a gemstone in the centre, but I want the profile to be trellis/latice style.

I am also lusting after a band in 18k RG from Single Stone.

well, I have spent my budget for this year (and then some) on my bezel leverback earrings from WF, BGD bezel pendant, and my antique five-stone so I am done for this year, and maybe next.
2.gif

But...after that, my plan is to get a rose gold eternity band:

maybe in a setting like this with all diamonds, or maybe also with a colored stone that wouldn't upstage/clash with the sapphire in my ering...probably padparadascha sapphires, or orangy pink spinels....

If I got it made custom in the future, if I could find them and afford it, I would change the cognac diamonds to padparadascha sapphire melee

I have a couple things constantly popping up in my mind:

- An aqua asscher in a simple, fluid solitaire
- Another stacking ring to wear with my wedding set
- Five stone! I'd either get one that I could wear with my five-stone-esque e-ring (.75 ctw) or just go bigger (1.5 ctw?) and wear it as a RHR.

I don''t really want anything right now!
